TwinsOswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 0-for-3 with a walk.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) retired all five men he faced, one by strikeout.  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was used as a pinch-hitter and struck out.

Game summary:  An RBI single by Jose Torres snapped a 1-1 tie in the sixth.  Aragua added an insurance run in the eighth.

Aragua:  Michael Dubee allowed two hits and no walks in three shutout innings.  Jose Martinez (Houston) was 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI.

Anzoategui:  Donovan Hand (Milwaukee) struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on seven hits and no walks.

ZULIA 10, MARGARITA 3 IN MARGARITA

TwinsSean Burroughs (Margarita) was 3-for-4 with a double and scored once.

Game summary:  Zulia scored two in the fourth to go up 3-2, led 5-3 after eight, then put it away with five in the ninth.

Zulia:  Jose Flores was 3-for-5, scoring once and driving in one.  Sandy Leon (Washington) was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in three.

Margarita:  Edgar Duran (Philadelphia) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once.  Frank Diaz was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

CARACAS 5, MAGALLANES 4 IN CARACAS

TwinsDeolis Guerra (Magallanes) retired all four men he faced, striking out three of them.

Game summary:  Magallanes led 4-0 after five.  Carlos Rivero (Washington) hit a three-run homer in the sixth.  A two-run double by Josh Kroeger gave Caracas the lead.

Magallanes:  Carlos Maldonado (Washington) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer.  Darwin Perez was 1-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring once.

Caracas:  Kroeger was 1-for-3 with a walk.  Henry Wrigley was 1-for-3 with a walk.

LA GUAIRA 3, LARA 2 IN LARA

Game summary:  An RBI single by Alex Cabrera broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth.

La Guaira:  Derrick Loop worked two shutout innings.

Lara:  Jose Lopez was 3-for-4.  Jordan Parraz (Atlanta) hit a home run.
