A good day for Pedro Florimon.  Oriente and Cibao use more players than a spring training game.

LICEY 5, AGUILAS 1 IN LICEY

TwinsLuis Perdomo (Aguilas) struck out two in two-thirds of an inning, giving up a hit and a walk but no runs.

Game summary:  An RBI double by Juan Francisco (Atlanta) gave Licey a 2-1 lead in the sixth.  Licey then scored three in the seventh to take control.

Aguilas:  Lorenzo Barcelo allowed two runs on four hits and a walk in 5.1 innings.  Francisco Pena (Mets) was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.

Licey:  Hanley Ramirez (Dodgers) was 3-for-4 with two doubles and scored twice.  Francisco was 2-for-2 with two walks.

ORIENTE 4, CIBAO 3 IN CIBAO (16 INNINGS)

TwinsDrew Butera (Oriente) was 0-for-5.

Game summary:  Oriente scored single runs in the sixth and seventh to tie the score at three.  Juan Diaz (Cleveland) delivered an RBI single in the sixteenth.  The teams combined to use twenty-four pitchers and thirty-one position players.

Oriente:  Wirfin Obispo struck out five in three shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Todd Linden was 2-for-4 with a walk and a homer.

Cibao:  Kyler Newby struck out six in five innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks.  Jean Segura (Milwaukee) was 2-for-7, scoring once and driving in one.

ESCOGIDO 7, ESTE 5 IN ESTE

TwinsPedro Florimon (Escogido) was 2-for-4.

Game summary:  Abraham Almonte (Yankees) hit a two-run triple in the seventh to break a 4-4 tie for Escogido.

Escogido:  Eury Perez (Washington) was 3-for-5 with a triple and scored twice.  Starling Marte (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-4 with a walk and scored twice.

Este:  Charlie Blackmon (Colorado) was 2-for-2 with a home run.  Angel Villalona (San Francisco) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, driving in two.
