An excellent performance by Samuel Deduno.  Just how big are rosters in this league, anyway?

ORIENTE 6, AGUILAS 2 IN ORIENTE

TwinsSamuel Deduno (Aguilas) struck out seven in five shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.

Game summary:  Trailing 2-0, Oriente scored five runs in the sixth to take control of the game.

Aguilas:  Hector Luna was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks.  Juan Carlos Perez was 2-for-3 with a walk and scored once.

Oriente:  Junior Lake (Cubs) was 2-for-4 with a homer, scoring twice and driving in two.  Brad Snyder hit a three-run homer.

CIBAO 6, ESCOGIDO 0 IN CIBAO

Game summary:  Cibao scored two in the first and led 4-0 after five.

Escogido:  Abraham Almonte (Yankees) was 2-for-4.  Carlos Santana (Cleveland) doubled and walked.

Cibao:  Fabio Castro struck out five in 4.2 innings, allowing four hits and three walks.  Jean Segura (Milwaukee) was 3-for-3 with a double and scored once.

LICEY 7, ESTE 6 IN LICEY (13 INNINGS)

Game summary:  It was tied 4-4 after nine and 5-5 after twelve.  Este scored on an error to take the lead in the thirteenth, but Licey scored two to win.  Hanley Ramirez (Dodgers) singled to drive in the winning run.  The teams combined to use 21 pitchers and 32 position players for a total of 55 players used.

Este:  Diory Hernandez was 3-for-7.  Esteban German was 2-for-5 with two walks, scoring twice and driving in one.

Licey:  Ramirez was 2-for-6 with a home run and a walk.  Anderson Hernandez (Pittsburgh) was 3-for-5 with two walks, scoring twice and driving in one.
