MAYAGUEZ 6, CAROLINA 5 IN MAYAGUEZ

Twins: Daniel Ortiz (Mayaguez) was 1-for-3 with a double, scoring once and driving in two. Kennys Vargas (Mayaguez) was used as a pinch-hitter in the middle of an at-bat. He completed a strikeout, but the strikeout was not charged to him. Eddie Rosario (Mayaguez) was 1-for-4. Nelvin Fuentes (Mayaguez) walked the only man he faced.

Game summary: Mayaguez scored all of their runs in the first two innings. Carolina scored once in the ninth and got the tying run on base with two out.

Carolina: Felipe Lopez was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and an RBI. Enrique Hernandez (Houston) was 2-for-5 with a double and scored once.
