Obregon advances to the finals.

OBREGON 7, CULIACAN 2 IN OBREGON

Game summary: Obregon scored one in the fifth and two in the sixth to take a 3-0 lead. Culican scored once in the top of the seventh, but Obregon came back with four in the bottom of the seventh to put the game away.

Culiacan: Marlon Byrd was 4-for-4 with a double. Alejanrdo Armenta struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk.

Obregon: Luis Mendoza (Kansas City) struck out twelve in 6.2 innings, allowing one run on four hits and three walks. Carlos Valencia was 3-for-4 with a double and a three-run homer, scoring twice.

GUASAVE 8, MEXICALI 5 IN MEXICALI

Game summary: Guasave scored two in the fifth to take a 2-1 lead and built the lead to 7-1 after 7 ½ innings. Mexicali scored some late runs to make the final score closer.

Guasave: Edgar Gonzalez (Houston) pitched 7.2 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk. Zelous Wheeler (Baltimore) was 4-for-5, scoring twice and driving in one.

Mexicali: Jon Weber was 3-for-5 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in three. Yuniesky Betancourt was 3-for-5.

PLAYOFF UPDATE

Obregon wins their series 4-1 and advances to the finals.  Mexicali still leads Guasave 3-2.
