Oswaldo Arcia is back in the lineup.  A solid outing for P. J. Walters.  Adam Brett Walker II is still hot.

ROCHESTER 6, LEHIGH VALLEY 2 IN ROCHESTER

Batting stars:  Chris Parmelee was 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run (his first), scoring twice.  Oswaldo Arcia was 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, and an RBI.  Eric Fryer was 1-for-2 with a hit-by-pitch, scoring once.

Pitching stars:  P. J. Walters pitched 7.1 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and one walk with six strikeouts.  Edgar Ibarra retired all five batters he faced, striking out two of them.

Opposition stars:  Tyler Cloyd struck out six in seven innings, allowing one run on two hits and a walk.  Cody Asche was 2-for-4 with a double.

Key inning:  The eighth.  The Red Wings trailed 2-1.  Eric Farris walked, went to second on a passed ball, took third on an Eric Fryer single, and scored on another passed ball to tie the game.  A hit batsman and a walk loaded the bases, a wild pitch scored the go-ahead run, and the third passed ball of the inning plated an insurance run.  Arcia doubled in a fourth run and a sacrifice fly made the score 6-2.

Prospect watch:  Eduardo Escobar was 1-for-4.

PORTLAND 3, NEW BRITAIN 1 IN NEW BRITAIN

Batting stars:  Josmil Pinto was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Danny Santana was 1-for-3 with a walk and scored once.  Dan Rohlfing was 0-for-1 with three walks.

Pitching stars:  Virgil Vasquez struck out eight in a complete game, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk.

Opposition stars:  Anthony Ranaudo pitched 5.2 innings, allowing one runs on four hits and four walks with one strikeout.  Travis Shaw was 2-for-4 with a double and a triple.

Key inning:  The eighth.  The score was tied at one.  Ryan Dent doubled and scored on a single by Heiker Meneses to give the SeaDogs the lead.  A single by Garin Cecchini and a sacrifice fly by Michael Almanzar brought in an insurance run.

Prospect watch:  Nate Hanson was 0-for-3.

FORT MYERS 3, BREVARD COUNTY 2 IN BREVARD COUNTY (11 INNINGS)

Batting stars:  Mike Kvasnicka was 3-for-5 with an RBI.  Aderlin Mejia was 2-for-3 with two walks and scored once.  Byron Buxton was 2-for-4 with a walk.

Pitching stars:  Matt Tomshaw struck out six in seven innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk.  Zach Jones struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one run on one hit.  Adrian Salcedo pitched two shutout innings, giving up no hits and one walk while striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Tyler Cravy pitched seven innings, allowing one run on six hits and four walks while striking out five.  D'Vontrey Richardson was 2-for-5 and scored once.  Nick Ramirez was 2-for-5 and scored once.

Key inning:  The eleventh.  The scored was tied at two.  With two out and none on, Jhon Goncalves reached second on an error and scored on a single by Kvasnicka to give the Miracle the lead.

Prospect watch:  Dalton Hicks was 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI.  Kennys Vargas was 1-for-4 with a walk and a home run, his fifteenth.

PEORIA 8, CEDAR RAPIDS 7 IN CEDAR RAPIDS (10 INNINGS)

Batting stars:  Adam Brett Walker II was 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI.  Jorge Polanco was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Jeremias Pineda was 2-for-5 with a run and two RBIs.

Pitching star:  Madison Boer struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.

Opposition stars:  Jacob Wilson was 3-for-5 with a walk and two doubles, scoring twice and driving in two.  Breyvic Valera was 2-for-4 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Thomas Lee pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

Key inning:  The tenth.  The score was tied at seven.  With two out and none on, Wilson doubled and scored on a single by Jeremy Schaffer to give the Chiefs the lead.  The Kernels put runners on first and second with two out, but did not score.

Prospect watch:  Max Kepler was 0-for-3 with two walks and scored once.

KINGSPORT 3, ELIZABETHTON 2 IN KINGSPORT

Batting stars:  Mitch Garver was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.  Stuart Turner was 2-for-4.  Carlos Avila was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Pitching stars:  Brandon Bixler pitched 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

Opposition stars:  Martires Arias pitched five innings, allowing one run on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts.  Luis Rengel struck out three in three shutout innings, allowing one hit and no walks.  Jeff McNeil was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.

Key inning:  The ninth.  The Twins trailed 2-1.  In the top of the inning, with two out and none on, pinch-hitter Dereck Rodriguez singled, stole second, and scored on a single by Avila to tie the score.  In the bottom of the inning, a walk and a single put runners on first and second with one out and Jeyckol De Leon singled to bring in the winning run.

Prospect watch:  Zach Granite was 0-for-5.  Romy Jimenez was 1-for-4.  Rodriguez was 1-for-1 and scored once.

GCL TWINS 3, GCL ORIOLES 1 AT ORIOLES

Batting star:  Jorge Fernandez was 1-for-4 with a home run, his second.

Pitching stars:  Sam Gibbons pitched four shutout innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and four walks while striking out two. Lewis Thorpe struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks.  Miguel Gonzalez pitched a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Alex Murphy was 2-for-3 with a double.  Starter Ivan Hernandez pitched two perfect innings with one strikeout.

Key inning:  The sixth.  The score was tied at one.  Zach Larson led off with a single, went to second on a ground out, took third on a wild pitch, and scored on a sacrifice fly to give the Twins the lead.

Prospect watch:  Larson was 1-for-4 and scored once.  Adonis Pacheco was 1-for-4 and scored once.  Amaurys Minier was 0-for-1 and then was removed from the game.

DSL TWINS 8, DSL PADRES 2 AT TWINS

Batting stars:  Joel Ramirez was 2-for-5 with two doubles, scoring twice and driving in three.  Junior Amarante was 2-for-3 with a walk and scored once.

Pitching stars:  Eduardo Del Rosario struck out five in four shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.  Gabriel Rosario pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk with one strikeout.  Elias Villasana struck out one in a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Luis Barahona was 2-for-5 with an RBI.  Moises Lendor was 2-for-4.

Key inning:  The sixth.  The Twins led 3-0 when they scored five to put the game out of reach.  With one out, three consecutive walks filled the bases.  The next man struck out, but an error scored one, Ramirez cleared the bases with a double, and Frank Encarnacion doubled in the fifth run.  All eight Twins runs were unearned on four Padres errors.

Prospect watch:  Manuel Guzman was 1-for-5 with a double and scored once.  Frank Encarnacion was 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI.  Jhon Silva pitched one inning, giving up one run on two hits with a walk and a strikeout.
