Twins pitchers combine for 4.1 scoreless innings.  A big game for Antoan Richardson.

ARAGUA 6, LARA 2 IN ARAGUA

Twins:  Jermaine Mitchell (Aragua) was 0-for-4.  Mark Hamburger (Aragua) pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks with one strikeout.  Edgar Ibarra struck out the only batter he faced.

Lara:  Jairo Perez was 3-for-4 with three doubles and scored once.  Anthony Vasquez (Seattle) pitched six shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk with three strikeouts.

Aragua:  Guillermo Quiroz was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Juan Infante hit a grand slam.  Carlos Hernandez (Oakland) pitched five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

The game:  Lara scored two in the first.  The score stayed 2-0 until the seventh, when Aragua scored all six of its runs.  Quiroz had an RBI single, a run came in on a bases-loaded walk, and Infante hit a grand slam.  All six runs scored before anyone was out.  Lara used four pitchers in the inning.

MAGALLANES 6, ZULIA 4 IN MAGALLANES

Twins:  Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two hits and no walks.

Zulia:  Mark Minicozzi (San Francisco) was 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.  Ender Inciarte (Arizona) was 2-for-4 with a walk and scored once.

Magallanes:  Lew Ford was 4-for-4 with a walk, a double, and a triple, scoring twice and driving in one.  Frank Diaz was 2-for-5 with an RBI.

The game:  Magallanes went ahead 3-2 in the fourth on a pair of bases-loaded walks.  Minicozzi's RBI single tied it at three in the top of the fifth, but a walk, a double, a ground out, and an RBI single by Darwin Perez (Oakland) made it 5-3 Magallanes after five.  Zulia never got closer.

MARGARITA 5, ANZOATEGUI 3 IN ANZOATEGUI

Twins:  Antoan Richardson (Margarita) was 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI.  Lester Oliveros (Anzoategui) pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and no walks.

Margarita:  Manny Pina was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run.  Adam Duvall was 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs.  Byran Price pitched three innings, giving up one run on two hits an no walks with one strikeout.

Anzoategui:  Oscar Salazar was 2-for-4

The game:  Balbino Fuenmayor homered in the eighth for Anzoategui to tie the score at three.  In the ninth, a double by Pina, an intentional walk, and an accidental walk loaded the bases for Margarita.  Richardson hit a one-out single to give Margarita a 4-3 lead and Duvall singled with two out to make it 5-3.  Anzoategui put runners on first and third with two out in the bottom of the ninth.

LA GUAIRA 6, CARACAS 2 IN LA GUAIRA

Caracas:  Daniel Mayora was 2-for-4 with a double.  Jesus Aguilar (Cleveland) was 2-for-4 and scored once.  Mike Piazza (Angels) struck out three in three innings, giving up one run on three hits and one walk.

La Guaira:  Luis Sardinas (Texas) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Jose Martinez (Atlanta) was 2-for-3 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Miguel Gonzalez (White Sox) was 2-for-2 with a walk and scored twice.

The game:  A two-run triple by Carlos Sanchez (White Sox) in the fifth put La Guaira ahead 3-2.  They added three in the seventh on an RBI double by Martinez, an RBI triple by Sardinas, and a squeeze bunt.
