ESCOGIDO 5, LICEY 1 IN ESCOGIDO

Twins:  Jorge Polanco (Escogido) was o-for-3.

Licey:  Domingo Santana (Houston) was 2-for-4.

Escogido:  Erik Gonzalez (Cleveland) was 2-for-2 with a walk and a triple, scoring twice.  Nelson Payano struck out two in two perfect innings.

The game:  Miguel Olivo hit a two-run single in the fourth to give Escogido a 2-0 lead.  Gonzalez led off the fifth with a triple, igniting another two-run rally.  Escogido added one more in the seventh.  Licey's lone run came on a Yamaico Navarro homer in the eighth.

ESTE 3, ORIENTE 2 IN ESTE

Oriente:  Audy Ciriaco was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.  Alex Valdez was 2-for-3 with a walk and a triple, scoring once.  Junior Lake (Cubs) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Este:  Hector Gomez (Milwaukee) was 2-for-4 with a double and a run.  Elih Villanueva (Miami) pitched 4.1 innings, allowing one run on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

The game:  Este scored all three runs in the second after the first two batters were retired.  The Ciriaco homer in the seventh cut the lead to 3-2.  Oriente got the tying run to second base with one out in the ninth.

AGUILAS 6, CIBAO 2 IN AGUILAS

Cibao:  Alexander Guerrero (Dodgers) was 3-for-3 with a home run.  Alexi Casilla was 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Erick Abreu pitched 2.1 perfect innings with one strikeout.

Aguilas:  Andy Marte was 2-for-3 with a walk and two doubles, driving in one.  Zoilo Almonte (Yankees) was 2-for-4 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in one.  Sho Iwasaki pitched five innings, allowing one run on five hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

The game:  Cibao scored in the seventh on a Casilla single to tie the score at two.  Aguilas took control with four in the bottom of the seventh.  Juan Lagares (Mets) hit a two-run single in the inning.
