Dominican Digest: Games of 12/5

Oriente died with their boots.  It's not Zack Greinke, it's Zach Kroenke.

ESTE 4, ORIENTE 3 IN ESTE

Twins:  Chris Colabello (Este) was 1-for-4.

Oriente:  Elian Herrera (Milwaukee) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.  Audy Ciriaco was 1-for-4 with a double and a run.  Brock Huntzinger (Baltimore) retired all six men he faced, striking out three of them.

Este:  Jason Rogers (Milwaukee) was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.  Juan Ciriaco (San Francisco) was 1-for-4 with a double and a run.  Teoscar Hernandez (Houston) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring once.

The game:  Este got a double, a single, a double, and two more singles to score three in the third.  Oriente tied it in the fifth on a bases-loaded single-and-error by Herrera.  It remained tied until the bottom of the ninth, when a single and two errors plated the winning run.

AGUILAS 3, CIBAO 2 IN AGUILAS (10 INNINGS)

Cibao:  Juan Silverio (Cincinnati) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Moises Sierra (Toronto) was 2-for-5 with a double.  Zach Kroenke pitched 4.2 innings, giving up one run on six hit and one walk with two strikeouts.

Aguilas:  Zoilo Almonte (Yankees) was 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI.  Hector Luna was 2-for-5 with a double.  Juan Nicasio (Colorado) struck out five in four innings, allowing an unearned run on three hits and one walk.

The game:  Silverio's RBI single put Cibao on the board in the second inning.  Almonte drove in a run with a single to tie it at one in the fifth.  Each team scored in the seventh, leaving them tied at two after nine.  In the tenth, Almonte and Luna opened with singles, a bunt loaded the bases, and Joaquin Arias hit a run-scoring single to end the game.
