ESCOGIDO 3, LICEY 2 IN LICEY

Twins:  Pedro Florimon (Escogido) was 1-for-4 with an RBI.  Dan Rohlfing (Licey) was 0-for-1 with a walk.

Escogido:  Jason Rogers (Milwaukee) was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs.  Freddy Guzman was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.  Edward Valdez struck out five in 4.2 innings, giving up one run on six hits.

Licey:  Emilio Bonifacio (Kansas City) was 3-for-5 with a run.  Juan Francisco (Milwaukee) was 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.  Erick Aybar (Angels) was 2-for-5 with an RBI.

The game:  RBI singles by Florimon and Guzman put Escogido ahead 2-0 in the first.  It stayed there until the fifth, when Aybar put Licey on the board with a run-scoring single.  Escogido got the run back in the sixth when Eury Perez (Washington) singled in a run.  Licey closed to 3-2 in the seventh on Francisco's RBI single.  Licey got the tying run to third in the seventh and again in the ninth but could not bring him in.

CIBAO 8, AGUILAS 7 IN CIBAO

Aguilas:  Juan Perez (San Francisco) was 2-for-5 with a home run, scoring twice and three RBIs.  Ricardo Nanita was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Maikol Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

Cibao:  Francisco Peguero (Baltimore) was 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs.  Jairo Perez was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer.  Joey Williamson pitched two shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk with one strikeout.

The game:  Jairo Perez hit a three-run homer in the second inning to give Cibao a 3-0 lead.  It didn't last long, as Aguilas came back with four in the third, getting an RBI double from Jonathan Villar, a two-run double by Juan Perez, and a run-scoring single by Nanita to go ahead 4-3.  That lead didn't last long either, as Peguero drove in a run with a single in the bottom of the third to tie it up.  Peguero singled home another run in the fifth to put Cibao ahead 5-4, but again it didn't last long, as Aguilas scored two in the sixth on a Hector Luna homer and a squeeze bunt.  Once again their lead didn't last long either, as Rey Olmedo singled in a run in the bottom of the sixth to tie it and Marcell Ozuna singled in a run in the seventh to put Cibao ahead 7-6.  Juan Perez homered in the ninth to tie it up yet again, but in the bottom of the ninth Garabez Rosa delivered a pinch-hit single with the bases loaded and two out to win the game.
