ADELAIDE 23, BRISBANE 3 IN BRISBANE

Twins:  Logan Wade was 2-for-4 with a double and a run for Brisbane.

Adelaide:  Mitch Dening (Boston) was 3-for-5 with three home runs and a walk, scoring five times and driving in four.  Ben Lodge was 3-for-5 with a home run and a double, scoring twice and driving in five.  Craig Stem (Dodgers) struck out four in four shutout innings, giving up three hits and no walks.

Brisbane:  C. J. Beatty (White Sox) was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer.  Connor MacDonald (Houston) was 1-for-3 with a home run.

The game:  Adelaide scored four in the first, four in the second, seven in the third, and five in the fourth to go ahead 20-0.  Brisbane made six errors and their pitchers allowed eight walks.

SYDNEY 9, PERTH 4 IN PERTH

Sydney:  David Kandilas (Colorado) was 2-for-4 with a triple and a walk, driving in four.  Trent Oeltjen (Arizona) was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in three.  Craig Anderson (Baltimore) pitched six innings, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts.

Perth:  Tim Kennelly (Texas) was 2-for-5 with a home run.  Matt Kennelly (Atlanta) was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring once.  Adam Millson pitched three shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk.

The game:  Sydney took a 5-0 lead in the second and was never threatened.  Oeltjen drove home three in the second with a double-plus-error.
