Puerto Rican Perambulation: Games of November 1

A Danny Dorn double dooms Mayaguez.  Three is the magic number in Santurce.

CAROLINA 8, MAYAGUEZ 1 IN MAYAGUEZ

Twins:  Daniel Ortiz was 0-for-3.  Kennys Vargas was 0-for-2 with an RBI.  Dereck Rodriguez faced two batters, giving up a home run to one and hitting the other.  He was charged with two runs.  All three Twins players play for Mayaguez.

Carolina:  Rene Garcia (Houston) was 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs.  Cameron Seitzer (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk.  Giancarlo Alvarado (Mets) pitched four shutout innings, giving up four hits and no walks with one strikeout.

Mayaguez:  Andrew Velazquez (Arizona) was 2-for-4 with a run.  Irving Falu (Milwaukee) was 1-for-2 with a walk.  Jorge Lopez (Milwaukee) struck out three in three innings, allowing one run on three hits and a walk with one strikeout.

The game:  Carolina scored five in the fourth to go ahead 6-0 and put the game out of reach.  Danny Dorn (Arizona) capped the inning with a three-run double.

SANTURCE 6, SAN JUAN 3 IN SANTURCE

San Juan:  Ivan De Jesus (Boston) was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Jonathan Mota (Cubs) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Malcom Diaz (San Diego) pitched two shutout innings, giving up only a walk.

Santurce:  Jordan Lennerton (Detroit) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Jorge Padilla was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.  Joel Piniero (Angels) pitched five innings, allowing one run on two hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

The game:  Santurce scored three in the third and San Juan got three in the sixth, leaving the game 3-3.  Santurce scored three more in the eighth to go ahead, scoring one on a Yenier Bello (Atlanta) RBI single, one on an error, and one on a wild pitch.
