  1. Arizona doesn't have to recognize anything if they don't want to. There's no telling what year it is here!

But for real, the switch happened, eh? Am I two hours away from the Minnies now instead of one? That actually does change deadlines at CdL.

  2. Went to Minny early Fri AM, worked the day from the house there, then back today early.

Was able to get some quality time in with friends/family, including Pazzaluna in St. Paul (order the duck, trust me) and Ordway for the premier of The Manchurian Candidate at the Ordway last night.

'Twas good, I really liked the music, movement, timing, and delivery. 2nd Act was fab for speed/intensity. I had seen clips of the original movie. Not sure current China/Russia up to this level of chicanery.

  3. Chatted with Mike Pelfrey, who was generally pleased with how he threw yesterday but wished his command was better. He threw several changeups, as per Neil Allen's suggestion.

I believe that was the report that the Rays had one of the highest percentages of changeups thrown, so already seeing some of that influence.

  4. Jose Berrios pitched three scoreless innings, giving up an unearned run on three hits with two strikeouts. Pitched like he belonged. He has impressed so far in camp, with one person with the team telling me he would take Berrios' stuff over Alex Meyer's stuff. Twins manager Paul Molitor has noticed how Berrios doesn't seemed fazed by much.

When a throwing error in the fourth led to Baltimore's only run. Berrios kept the inning from falling apart.
``He had to deal with a misplay and was able to minimize that and not turn it into a crooked number,'' Molitor said. ``(He's) 20, is that right? A lot of poise for 20. I haven't been following his twitter account (laughter) but I think he's pretty confident too. Not in a bad way. If I could pitch like that at 20 I would be confident too.''

Would be real interesting if Berrios made the majors before Buxton did. This could be a historic draft.

    1. I saw Berrios pitch to a couple of batters on TV yesterday. I'm no scout, but he looked really good. I'd be really surprised if he started the year with the Twins, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see him yet this year.

    2. I don't think I will ever get tired of watching this:
