Minor Details: Games of July 29

Pat Dean does okay.  The Lookouts and Miracle lose in the last inning.  Lots of strikeouts for Eduardo Del Rosario and Taylor Clemensia.

ROCHESTER 4, LEHIGH VALLEY 2 IN ROCHESTER

A two-run single by Tommy Field in the fifth inning put the Red Wings up 3-2 and they never trailed again.  Pat Dean pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts.  Neil Ramirez remained unscored upon in three Rochester appearances (3.2 innings).  J. T. Chargois pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.  His ERA is now 1.09, his WHIP is 0.94, and he has struck out 40 and walked 7 in 33 innings.  Wilfredo Tovar was 2-for-3 with a double.  Logan Schafer was 1-for-1 with two walks and scored three of the four Rochester runs.

TENNESSEE 7, CHATTANOOGA 6 IN CHATTANOOGA (11 INNINGS)

The Lookouts took a 4-0 lead in the second, but the Smokies caught up and went ahead 7-6 in the top of the ninth.  Travis Harrison doubled home a run in the bottom of the ninth to tie it, but Victor Caratini's RBI single in the eleventh brought home the go-ahead run.  Felix Jorge pitched five innings, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts.  Harrison was 2-for-5 with a double and a walk.  Engelb Vielma and Levi Michael were each 2-for-5.  Edgar Corcino was 1-for-3 with a three-run homer (his second) and two walks and is batting .308.

CLEARWATER 7, FORT MYERS 6 IN FORT MYERS

The Miracle led by 5-2 and 6-4 only to lose it in the ninth.  Chace Numata's run-scoring single provided the go-ahead run for the Threshers.  Sam Clay struck out nine in five innings but surrendered four runs on six hits and no walks.  Michael Theofanopoulos struck out two in a scoreless inning, dropping his ERA to 1.62.  Trey Vavra went 4-for-5 with a double to lead the offense.  Nick Gordon was 3-for-5 and is batting .302.  Alex Perez was 2-for-4.  LaMonte Wade was 1-for-5 and is batting .341.

CEDAR RAPIDS 4, KANE COUNTY 0 IN KANE COUNTY

Eduardo Del Rosario struck out eleven in six shutout innings, allowing two hits and four walks.  The Kernels scored one in the second, two in the fourth, and one in the seventh.  Luis Arraez was 3-for-5 with a home run (his third) and is batting .327.  Casey Scoggins was 2-for-5 with a triple.

ELIZABETHTON 3, BRISTOL 0 IN BRISTOL (GAME 1--COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME--5 INNINGS--RAIN)

Amaurys Minier hit a two-run homer in a three-run fourth that gave the Twins all the runs they needed.  Alex Schick pitched a five-inning complete game shutout, allowing two hits and a walk with three strikeouts.  Minier was 1-for-1 with a walk in addition to his sixth homer.  Alex Kirilloff was 1-for-3 and is batting  .358.  Ariel Montesino was 0-for-3 and is batting .341.  Lewin Diaz was 1-for-2 and is batting .301.

Rained out.

GCL RED SOX 5, GCL TWINS 0 AT TWINS

The Red Sox scored two in the fourth, one in the seventh, and two in the ninth.  Taylor Clemensia struck out ten in 4.2 innings, giving up two unearned runs on two hits and a walk.  He has 29 strikeouts and 17 walks in 25.1 innings.  Dominic Blanco made his GCL debut and was 1-for-3.  No Twin had more than one hit.  Roni Tapia was 0-for-2, dropping his average to .081 (3-for-37).

DSL MARINERS1 AT DSL TWINS (SUSPENDED IN TOP OF SEVENTH)

The score is 1-1 in the top of the seventh inning.  The Mariners1 are batting with men on first and third and one out.  The Twins have made five errors so far.
