PLEDGE DRIVE 2016

Well, here we are again, lady and gentlemen. Things have been a little slow around here as of late, what with all teh sucking lo these past few years. Still, this is an amazingly vibrant community, a fact we hope to highlight over the next few days. Stay tuned, we should have some great programming...

On the donation front, unfortunately I didn't really get a chance to go over other options, so we're going to stick with PayPal for now (if you want to donate, but prefer to use another method, just let me know via email or however). I believe the fee for PayPal is 2.9% + $0.30/donation, but I'll double check that to be sure. Our goal is $500 again, but the more we get, the less we have to go through this crap!

I'll give some updates throughout the week, but seriously, stick around. We should have some good stuff coming.  UPDATE: Check back here for an updating list of all the posts we'll be rolling out this week. (And also, please be sure to give it up for Jeff A, who will continue to update us on winter baseball and the run of the 1987 Twins.  At over 5,000 posts and counting, I'm amazed at how lucky we are to have him.  The rest of you are pretty cool too, I guess.)

  1. If I pledge at he appropriate level do I get a free coffee mug and/or tote bag? Or maybe a dvd of the best moments of WGOM.

  2. Not to be dumb, but I'm dumb. Clicking the link just sends me to a generic Paypal page. What is the proper recipient? Do I need to establish a Paypal account or is there still an option for one-time transaction? etc.

A step-by-step how-to for the short-attentioned Citizens would be desirable.

    1. Did you get any advice on this? I'm hoping to avoid setting up a PayPal account; that company's security record is awful and I'd prefer to avoid setting myself up for another case of identity theft.

          1. Heh, I like that that's the go-to question. Not that I know of, just if you had it, they have an easy (and fee-less, I believe) way to send money via internet. Chase or Quick Pay or something. If your bank offers something similar, you could send it to the email address that I've mentioned.

            1. Finally had time to research this. My bank did offer that option, so my pledge should be in now.

    1. The address is "half baked donations" (-spaces) via google's services. Looking at it, it appears that however Rows did it, there weren't charges taken (again, so it appears).

          1. Don't do like I did ... be sure you use a bank or PP balance or you'll pay a transaction fee.

        1. no mention of the swedish ambassador's name when I sent my donation along. Let me know if you got it.

  3. Five Pledge Week posts about cooking (plus one about "bite-sized" things!). This is a cooking/eating blog that sometimes talks about baseball and other stuff.

    1. I have a thoren recipe I could probably write up if we're still looking for Pledge Week content.

  4. If only we could all be in the same place at the same time, I'm convinced we could pull of the most amazing potluck evah.

    1. Oooh. This is a fabulous idea.

Edited to add: Of course, we'd all get food poisoning, since all the dishes would be half-baked.
