Minor Details: Games of June 11

Rochester and Chattanooga get good leads early and hold on.  Ryan Pressly continues to impress in Rochester.  Randy LeBlanc has some success in AA.  The Kernels go silent after the first inning.

ROCHESTER 6, SYRACUSE 5 IN ROCHESTER

J. B. Shuck hit a two-run triple and later scored to put the Red Wings up 3-0 in the second.  It was 5-0 after three, but the Chiefs got a solo homer from Joey Butler and a two-run shot by Jhonatan Solano to cut it to 5-3 in the fourth.  Zack Granite doubled and scored in the bottom of the fourth to make it 6-3 and Rochester needed the run, as Syracuse scored twice in the sixth to make it 6-5.  The Chiefs had the tying run on second in the sixth and seventh and got him to third in the eighth, but never got him the rest of the way.

Matt Tracy, who was making his AAA debut because Nik Turley was making his major league debut, pitched well other than the fourth, going five innings and giving up three runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts.  Alan Busenitz pitched a scoreless inning to make his ERA 1.98.  Ryan Pressly struck out the side in a perfect inning, giving him seven strikeouts in four shutout innings.  Shuck was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, driving in three.  ByungHo Park was 2-for-4 with a double.  Engelb Vielma was 2-for-4.  Zack Granite was 1-for-4 with a walk and is batting .312.

CHATTANOOGA 5, MONTGOMERY 4 IN MONTGOMERY

With two out and the bases loaded in the second, Ryan Walker delivered a two-run double followed by Nick Gordon's two-run triple to put the Lookouts ahead 4-0.  T. J. White singled in a run to make it 5-0 in the third.  That was all the runs Chattanooga needed, but just barely.  The Biscuits scored one in the seventh, leaving the bases loaded, and scored one in the eighth, leaving the bases loaded.  In the ninth, Montgomery scored twice and had the tying run on third base before a line out to center ended the game.

Randy LeBlanc had his first success in AA.  He only pitched four innings (79 pitches), but he struck out five while giving up no runs on five hits and a walk.  Raul Fernandez pitched two shutout innings.  White was 3-for-4 with a double and is batting .314.  Ryan Strausborger was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Jonathan Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a walk.  Nick Gordon was 2-for-5 with a triple and is batting .311.
