No happy ending for the Kernels.

QUAD CITIES 6, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Josh Rojas hit a three-run double with two out in the first and the River Bandits led all the way.  They added a run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly.  Aaron Whitefield led off the seventh to put the Kernels on the board, but Quad Cities added two more in the ninth to put the game out of reach.  Cedar Rapids had only four hits.

Tyler Wells pitched 4.1 ininngs, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts.  Bryan Sammons pitched 3.1 scoreless innings of relief.  Whitefield was 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks.
