ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Leonardo Reginatto (Margarita) was 2-for-5.

CARACAS 7, ARAGUA 2 IN ARAGUA

Caracas scored two in the third and four in the seventh to build a 6-0 lead.  Wilfredo Tovar was 4-for-5.  Carlos Perez was 2-for-5 with a three-run homer.  Seth Frankoff struck out six in five shutout innings, giving up three hits and three walks.  For Aragua, Alberto Callaspo was 3-for-5.  Robert Zarate pitched 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four.

LA GUAIRA 10, MARGARITA 5 IN LA GUAIRA

La Guaira led 3-0 after one inning.  Margarita cut the lead to 3-2, but La Guaira scored three in the third and two in the fourth to take control of the game.  Jose Martinez was 3-for-4.  Jorma Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs.

MAGALLANES 8, ANZOATEGUI 5 IN ANZOATEGUI

Jesus Valdez hit a two-run homer in the fifth to break a 3-3 tie and put Magallanes in the lead to stay.  It was Valdez' ninth homer of the season.  Ricky Rodriguez was 2-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs.  For Anzoategui, Balbino Fuenmayor was 2-for-5 with a double and a home run.  Rene Reyes was 1-for-2 with three walks.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

LOS MOCHIS 2, NAVOJOA 1 IN NAVOJOA

Los Mochis scored one in the third and one in the fifth to take a 2-0 lead.  Navojoa got only one hit after the fifth inning.  Luis Pino pitched four innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out three.  For Navojoa, Raul Carrillo pitched five innings, giving up two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four.

HERMOSILLO 9, CULIACAN 2 IN CULIACAN

It was tied 2-2 after seven, but Hermosillo scored three in the eighth and four in the ninth.  Bryce Brentz was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks, driving in four.  Josh Smith pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two.  For Culiacan, Anthony Vasquez pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six.

OBREGON 3, MAZATLAN 2 IN MAZATLAN

Ricardo Valenzuela's RBI single in the fourth gave Obregon a 3-2 lead and they held on.  Mazatlan put men on first and second with one out, but did not get a man past first after that.  Arturo Lopez struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk.  For Mazatlan, Esteban Quiroz was 3-for-4.

MEXICALI 5, JALISCO 4 IN MEXICALI (12 INNINGS)

With one out in the twelfth, Chris Roberson doubled and scored on a Walter Ibarra single to win the game.  Ibarra was 4-for-6 with a home run, his fifth.  Roberson was 2-for-6 with a double and a home run, his fourth.  For Jalisco, Billy Burns was 4-for-6 with a double, Manny Rodriguez was 3-for-5, and Kyle Lloyd struck out six in five innings, giving up two runs on six hits and no walks.
