VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Anthony Marzi (Margarita) pitched 6.1 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out four.

LARA 9, MAGALLANES 1 IN MAGALLANES

Henry Urrutia hit a three-run homer in the third to break a 1-1 tie.  Urrutia was 3-for-3 with his fourth home run and four RBIs.  Jecksson Flores was 2-for-5 with a grand slam.  Raul Rivero pitched seven innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts.

ZULIA 5, ANZOATEGUI 4 IN ZULIA

Jairo Perez singled home Ali Castillo with the winning run with two out in the ninth.  Castillo was 3-for-5 with two doubles.  Perez was also 3-for-5.  Tomas Telis hit a home run for Anzoategui.

MARGARITA 4, LA GUAIRA 3 IN MARGARITA

Leonardo Reginatto's two-run single in the eighth turned a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 win for Margarita.  Marzi was the star for Margarita, as detailed above.  For La Guaira, Tommy Collier struck out nine in 5.1 scoreless innings, giving up six hits and a walk.

CARACAS 4, ARAGUA 3 IN CARACAS (10 INNINGS)

Alberto Callaspo hit a two-run homer in the eighth for Aragua to tie it 3-3.  In the tenth, Henry Alejandro Rodriguez singled home Javier Betancourt with the winning run for Caracas.  Trayvon Robinson was 2-for-5 with a home run (his third) and three RBIs.  Luis Diaz pitched seven innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk while striking out three.  Callaspo was 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk.  Guillermo Moscoso pitched six innings, giving up one run on six hits and no walks while striking out three.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

CULIACAN 5, JALISCO 3 IN JALISCO

Joey Meneses and Cody Decker each homered in the sixth to give Culiacan a 5-1 lead.  Meneses was 3-for-4 with a home run (his third) and a double.  Sebastian Elizalde was 3-for-3 with a triple and two doubles.  Decker was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Aldo Montes pitched 6.1 innings, giving up one run on three hits and five walks while striking out five.  Agustin Murillo hit a home run, his fifth, for Jalisco.

NAVOJOA 1, MEXICALI 0 IN NAVOJOA

Max Ramirez hit a home run in the third for the game's only run.  It was Ramirez' second homer of the season.  Jaime Lugo pitched 7.2 scoreless innings, giving up five hits and a walk with three strikeouts.  Rolando Valdez pitched six innings for Navojoa, giving up one run on three hits and no walks while striking out three.

MAZATLAN 8, LOS MOCHIS 2 IN LOS MOCHIS

Cyle Hankerd in a two-run single in the third, Mazatlan got two more in the fourth, and Mazatlan led all the way.  Corey Brown was 2-for-5 with a home run (his fifth) and a double, driving in four.  Mitch Lively struck out seven in six innings, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk.  Michael Wing hit a two-run homer for Los Mochis.

HERMOSILLO 6, OBREGON 3 IN HERMOSILLO

Hermosillo scored on a double play in the seventh to take a 4-3 lead and added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth.  Jose Amador was 3-for-4 with a double.  Roberto Ramos was 2-for-3 with two home runs and a walk.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Apparently there was rain in the Dominican Republic.

AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Aaron Whitefield (Brisbane) was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 1-for-4.

SYDNEY 10, ADELAIDE 1 IN SYDNEY

Sydney scored in each of the eight innings they batted.  Chih-Hsien Chiang was 3-for-4 with a home run and a triple.  Trent D'Antonio was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, scoring three times.  Michael Suchy hit a two-run homer.  Gavin Fingleson had three RBIs.  Trevor Foss struck out seven in six innings, giving up one run on two hits and no walks.  Rodrigo Ayarza homered for the lone Adelaide run.

BRISBANE 5, CANBERRA 4 IN BRISBANE

Canberra led 4-0 in the second, but Brisbane cut it to 4-3 and then scored two on a Wade single in the sixth to go into the lead to stay.  T. J. Barrett hit a two-run homer, his second.  For Canberra, Connor Panas was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer.  Kyle Perkins was 1-for-3 with a homer and a walk.  Lake Bachar struck out four in four innings, giving up one run on two hits and three walks.

PERTH 9, MELBOURNE 1 IN MELBOURNE

Ex-Twin Luke Hughes hit a grand slam in the sixth to give Perth a 6-0 lead.  Hughes was 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs.  Jake Fraley was 3-for-4 with a home run and a walk.  Zacrey Law was 2-for-4 with two home runs.  Alex Boshers struck out nine in six innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk.  Brett Cumberland was 2-for-4 with a home run for Melbourne.
