VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Willians Astudillo (Anzoategui) was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

MAGALLANES 12, CARACAS 9 IN CARACAS (14 INNINGS)

It was 3-2 through eight and 4-4 through nine.  Each team scored four in the tenth to make it 8-8.  Magallanes scored four in the fourteenth, with Caracas getting only one back.  Alberth Martinez hit a three-run homer for Magallanes in the fourteenth.  Ronny Cedeno was 3-for-6.  Martinez was 3-for-7 with a double in addition to his fifth home run and had five RBIs.  Adonis Garcia was 3-for-7 with a home run and a double and scored three times.  Jesus Valdez was 2-for-6 with two home runs (his fourteenth and fifteenth) and a walk.  Derek Eitel pitched five innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two.  For Caracas, Trayvon Robinson was 4-for-6 with two doubles and a walk.  Carlos Perez was 4-for-6 with a triple and a walk, driving in three.  Alexander Palma was 3-for-7 with a home run and a double, driving in three.  The teams combined to use twenty-one pitchers, with Magallanes using twelve.

LARA 10, LA GUAIRA 3 IN LARA

Lara scored five in the second and four in the fifth to lead 9-2.  Ildemaro Vargas was 3-for-5 with two doubles.  Carlos Rivero was 3-for-5 with a double.  Rangel Ravelo was 3-for-5 with three runs.  Jorge Martinez pitched five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out two.  Miguel Gonzalez hit a home run for La Guaira.

ANZOATEGUI AT ZULIA

The game was suspended with Anzoategui leading Zulia 4-0 with two out in the bottom of the third.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

HERMOSILLO 7, JALISCO 6 IN JALISCO

Hermosillo led 5-1, but fell behind 6-5 before coming back with two in the eighth to win.  Ivan De Jesus, Jr. drove in the two eighth-inning runs with a single.  Luis Alfonso Garcia was 3-for-4 with a home run and a double.  Fernando Perez was 3-for-4.  Jose Cardona hit a home run.  For Jalisco, Amadeo Zazueta was 3-for-5 with a double.  Japhet Amador was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his third.

NAVOJOA 2, OBREGON 1 IN OBREGON

Navojoa scored one in the first and one in the fifth.  Obregon's lone run came in the sixth, but they got the tying run to third in the eighth.  Randy Arozarena hit a home run for Navojoa, his ninth.  Eddie Gamboa struck out six in six innings, giving up one run on nine hits.  Humberto Sosa homered for Obregon's lone run.  Luis Mendoza pitched three innings, giving up one run on three hits while striking out one.

MEXICALI 11, LOS MOCHIS 2 IN LOS MOCHIS

Mexicali scored three in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead and put the game out of reach with five in the eighth.  Yuniesky Betancourt was 4-for-5 with a double and four RBIs.  C. J. Retherford was 2-for-4 with a home run (his seventh) and four RBIs.  Miguel Pena pitched five innings, giving up two runs on nine hits, one walk, and two strikeouts.  Saul Soto hit a home run for Los Mochis.

MAZATLAN 1, CULIACAN 0 IN CULIACAN

The game's lone run came on a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning.  Mitch Lively pitched a complete game shutout, giving up just one and no walks.  He struck out four.  For Culiacan, Salvador Valdez pitched six shutout innings, giving up four hits and a walk and striking out two.

DOMINCAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

ESTRELLAS 2, GIGANTES 1 AT ESTRELLAS

With the Estrellas trailing 1-0, Frank Schwindel hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to put them in the lead to stay.  Schwindel was 2-for-4.  Mitch Atkins pitched five innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk while striking out one.  For the Gigantes, Gabriel Ynoa pitched four shutout innings, giving up three hits and striking out one.  The Estrellas out-hit the Gigantes 9-2.

AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE

CANBERRA 18, ADELAIDE 3 IN ADELAIDE

Canberra scored four in the second to take a 4-1 lead.  Already leading 9-2, they scored nine more in the eighth.  Buddy Reed was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs.  Jay Baum was 3-for-5 with a walk.  Cameron Warner was 0-for-3 with three walks and three runs.  Gabriel Arias was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, scoring three times and driving in five.
