VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Willians Astudillo (Anzoategui) was 1-for-5 with a run and an RBI.  Gregorio Petit (Caracas) was 0-for-2 with a walk.

LARA 2, MARGARITA 1 IN MARGARITA

Lara scored single runs in the sixth and eighth.  Margarita got its lone run in the ninth and had the tying run on third with one out.  Jorge Martinez struck out ten in eight innings, giving up four hits and a walk.  For Margarita, Omar Poveda pitched six innings, giving up one run on four hits and two walks and striking out three.

ANZOATEGUI 8, LA GUAIRA 3 IN LA GUAIRA

Anzoategui scored three in the sixth to take a 7-0 lead.  Rafael Ortega was 4-for-5 with two doubles.  Tomas Telis was 3-for-4 with a walk.  Yeiper Castillo pitched five innings, giving up two unearned runs on three hits and a walk and striking out one.

ZULIA 4, CARACAS 2 IN ZULIA

Zulia scored four in the first and that was all they needed.  Herlis Rodriguez was 3-for-4.  Logan Duran pitched six innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk and striking out four.

ARAGUA 6, MAGALLANES 5 IN ARAGUA

Magallanes scored four in the seventh to tie it 5-5, but Francisco Arcia singled home the winning run for Aragua in the ninth.  Renato Nunez was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer.  Guillermo Moscoso pitched six innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk and striking out four.  For Magallanes,  Rayder Ascanio was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk.  Jesus Sucre was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, his second.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

JALISCO 6, OBREGON 2 IN OBREGON

Jalisco scored two in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie.  Yordanys Linares was 4-for-5.  Tyler Alexander struck out eleven in eight innings, giving up one run on six hits.  Arturo Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with a double for Obregon.

CULIACAN 11, LOS MOCHIS 3 IN LOS MOCHIS

Culiacan scored two in the second to break a 2-2 tie and built a 10-2 lead through four.  Joey Meneses was 3-for-3 with two doubles and scoring three times.  Ali Solis was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, his second.  Francisco Rios pitched five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk and striking out three.  For Los Mochis, Saul Soto hit a home run, his second.

MAZATLAN 2, HERMOSILLO 1 IN MAZATLAN

Mazatlan scored one in the third and one in the fifth.  Hermosillo scored one in the eighth and had the tying run on third.  For Mazatlan, Mitch Lively pitched seven shutout innings, giving up four hits and two walks and striking out four.  For Hermosillo, Luis Mendoza pitched five innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk and striking out four.

MEXICALI 3, NAVOJOA 1 IN NAVOJOA

Mexicali scored two in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead.  Miguel Pena pitched six shutout innings, giving up three hits and one walk and striking out five.  Navojoa's lone run came on a home run by Randy Arozarena, his thirteenth.  Eddie Gamboa pitched six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk and striking out three.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Kennys Vargas (Aguilas) was 1-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring twice.

LICEY 10, ESTRELLAS 2 IN LICEY

Licey scored three in the fourth to take a 4-2 lead and scored six in the eighth to put the game out of reach.  Mike Marjama was 3-for-4.  Juan Francisco hit a two-run homer, his fifth.

AGUILAS 11, TOROS 1 AT TOROS

The Aguilas scored three in the fourth, one in the fifth, and four in the sixth to take an 8-0 lead.  Luis Valenzuela was 3-for-4 with a double.  Richelson Pena pitched five shutout innings, giving up six hits and a walk and striking out three.  Anderson Feliz was 3-for-4 for the Toros.

ESCOGIDO 5, GIGANTES 2 AT GIGANTES

It was 2-2 after one, but Escogido scored once in the second, third, and ninth.  Danny Richar was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.  Vidal Nuno pitched six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and striking out three.
