Minor Details: Games of July 15

A decent rehab start for Ervin Santana, Royce Lewis' second day at high-A goes much better than his first.  Another good game for Bryan Sammons.  Chris Williams hits a big homer for the E-Twins.

SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 3, ROCHESTER 1 IN SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE

The RailRiders scored two in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie.  The Red Wings only had one hit after that and had only four hits in the game.

Ervin Santana struck out seven in 5.2 innings, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk.  D. J. Baxendale pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and four walks and striking out two.

MONTGOMERY AT CHATTANOOGA

The game was suspended after an inning and a half with the Lookouts leading 2-0.  Jaylin Davis brought home both runs with a two-run single.

LAKELAND 5, FORT MYERS 4 IN LAKELAND

Miguel Sano had a two-run double in a three-run ninth that tied the score 4-4.  In the bottom of the ninth, however, Cole Peterson singled home Zac Shepherd with the deciding run.

Royce Lewis was 4-for-5 and is batting .500.  Taylor Grzelakowski was 3-for-4 with a walk.  Sano was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, driving in two.  He is batting .328.

Andro Cutura struck out seven in 4.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk.  Jovani Moran struck out four in 3.1 innings, giving up one run on two hits.  His ERA is 1.50.

LAKE COUNTY 4, CEDAR RAPIDS 0 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

It was scoreless until the seventh, when Will Benson led off the inning with a home run.  The Captains would score one more in the seventh and two in the ninth.  The Kernels had just three hits.

Robby Rinn was 0-for-4 and is batting .322.

Bryan Sammons pitched 6.2 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks and striking out five.  His ERA is 2.32.

ELIZABETHTON 11, KINGSPORT 10 IN KINGSPORT

The Twins trailed 4-2, led 8-4, and trailed 9-8 after eight.  They then scored three in the ninth, getting a home run from Chris Williams and RBI singles by Andrew Cosgrove and Hunter Lee.  The Mets came back with one in the ninth but did not get the tying run on base.

Ricky De La Torre was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring twice.  Trevor Casanova was 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs and is batting .328.  Cosgrove was 2-for-4 with a walk and is batting .313.  Lee was 2-for-4.  Alex Robles was 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and is batting .341.  DaShawn Keirsey was 2-for-6 with two runs and two RBIs and is batting .344.  Tyler Webb was 0-for-5 and is batting .300.  Williams was 1-for-3 with a walk in addition to his seventh homer and scored twice.

Kody Funderburk struck out five in 3.1 innings but allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks.  Blair Lasko struck out four in 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and two walks.
