Minor Details: Games of July 30

Tyler Duffey pitches well in a Red Wings loss.  Kohl Stewart pitches really well in a Red Wings win.  One inning gives the Lookouts a win.  Jhoan Duran pitches seven no-hit innings and Ryan Jeffers has a huge day to lead the Kernels to victory.  Two hits are enough for the GCL Twins.  A good game for Miguel Rodriguez for the DSL Twins.

SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 4, ROCHESTER 3 IN ROCHESTER (SCHEDULED GAME)

Tyler Austin hit a three-run homer in the third to give the RailRiders a 3-1 lead.  It was 4-2 going to the ninth.  Edgar Corcino hit a two-out RBI double to make it 4-3.  Gregorio Petit followed with a single, but Corcino was thrown out at the plate.

Corcino had just been promoted to AAA.  The double was his first AAA at-bat.

Dietrich Enns pitched four innings, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks and striking out two.  Tyler Duffey pitched four shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk and striking out three.  His ERA is 1.23.  Luke Bard pitched a scoreless inning, walking one and striking out one.  His ERA is 2.49.

ROCHESTER 1, SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 0 IN ROCHESTER (COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME)

Jeremy Hazelbaker hit an RBI single with the bases loaded in the eighth inning (an extra inning) to decide the game.

The Red Wings had just two hits.

Kohl Stewart pitched seven shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  Nick Anderson pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.

CHATTANOOGA 3, TENNESSEE 0 IN TENNESSEE

The Lookouts scored all three of their runs in the third inning.

Tanner English was 2-for-4 with two doubles.  Mitchell Kranson was 2-for-4 and is batting .301.  Zander Wiel was 1-for-3 with a walk and is batting .313.

Williams Ramirez pitched two perfect innings, striking out one.  Sean Poppen pitched five shutout innings, giving up four hits and two walks and striking out two.  Tyler Jay pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.  Cody Stashak pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.

FORT MYERS MIRACLE

No game scheduled.

CEDAR RAPIDS 8, QUAD CITIES 0 IN QUAD CITIES

The Kernels scored three in the first, two in the second, and three in the fourth.  The River Bandits had just one hit, a two-out single in the ninth.

Ryan Jeffers was 4-for-4 with a home run, three doubles, and a walk, driving in three.  Jose Miranda was 3-for-5 with a home run (his twelfth) and a double, scoring twice and driving in five.  Michael Davis was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk and is batting .333.

Jhoan Duran struck out eight in seven shutout innings in his Cedar Rapids debut.  He gave up no hits and one walk.  Jared Finkel struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

ELIZABETHTON TWINS

No game scheduled.

GCL TWINS 1, GCL ORIOLES 0 IN ORIOLES (6-PLUS INNINGS--RAIN)

A sacrifice fly in the fifth brought home the game's only run.

The Twins had just two hits.

Prelander Berroa pitched five shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk and striking out four.  His ERA is 2.70.  Dylan Stowell struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

DSL TWINS 9, DSL METS1 4 AT TWINS

The Twins scored four in the second and led all the way.  The Mets made three errors in the inning.

Luis Milla was 3-for-4 with a triple, scoring twice.  He is batting .320.  Luis Gomez was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.  Nomar Urdaneta was 2-for-3 and is batting .316.  Ruben Santana was 2-for-4 with two runs and is batting .310.  Victor Heredia was 1-for-5 and is batting .356.  Jeferson Morales was 1-for-3 with a double and is batting .308.  Jesus Feliz was 0-for-4 and is batting .306.

Miguel Rodriguez pitched five innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk and striking out four.  Yeremi Garcia pitched three innings, giving up an unearned run on three hits and three walks and striking out one.

      1. First Red Wings start was July 1.

        First two starts 11 innings, 10 runs allowed.

        Next four outings (including yesterday) 24 innings, 5 runs allowed.

      1. After reviewing the tape, officials have determined that the trade was completed after the two baserunners had scored, but before Austin completed his trot.

        The game is now tied 2-2.
