  1. My one gripe: Eovaldi never had any intention of swinging in his at bats despite what was on the line. Pitchers hitting is a novelty that all other sports would have ditched a long time ago.

    1. I was long since in bed by that time, but I would much rather have my pitcher swing than have him watch a called third strike, even if he looks ridiculous swinging the bat. You never know. Maybe the pitcher will happen to throw one where he's swinging.

    2. Do pitchers ever do batting practice other than to work on bunting? I know AL pitchers will do some batting practice before playing in AL parks, but do pitchers for NL teams actually work at all on hitting?
