Seby Zavala singled home the winning run.

Batting stars:  Drew Maggi was 3-for-3 with a walk.

Pitching stars:  Andrew Vasquez was the opener and struck out all three batters he faced.  Kohl Stewart struck out six in 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and four walks.  D. J. Baxendale pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up two walks and striking out one.

Opposition star:  Colton Turner struck out eight in five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks.

Stats:  Luis Arraez was 1-for-5 and is batting .357.  Jordany Valdespin was 0-for-4 and is batting .352.  Drew Maggi was 3-for-3 with a walk and is batting .344.  He is 9-for-11 in his last three games, raising his average from .245.  Luke Raley was 1-for-4 with a double and is batting .302.

Pitching star:  Alex Phillips struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

Opposition star:  Jhoan Urena was 3-for-5.

Stats:  Jaylin Davis was 1-for-4 and is batting .310.  Blankenhorn raised his average to .300.  Griffin Jax pitched 5.1 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and no walks and striking out four, to make his ERA 1.59.  Tom Hackimer struck out two in one inning, giving up an unearned run on one hit to keep his ERA at zero.

Record:  The Blue Wahoos are 26-15, first in the Southern League South, five games ahead of Biloxi.

FORT MYERS 13, BRADENTON 7 IN BRADENTON

Lewin Diaz hit three home runs, the first Fort Myers Miracle player to hit three homers in a game.

Batting stars:  Diaz was 4-for-5 with three home runs (his fourth, fifth, and sixth), scoring four times and driving in five.  Ryan Jeffers was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk.  Aaron Whitefield was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer (his third) and a walk.  Jose Miranda was 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs.

Pitching star:  Anthony Vizcaya struck out five in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.

Opposition star:  Raul Hernandez was 2-for-3 with a walk.

Stats:  Trey Cabbage was 1-for-4 and is batting .333.  Diaz is batting .324.  Trevor Larnach was 1-for-5 with a triple and is batting .301.  Vizcaya has an ERA of 2.70.

Record:  The Miracle is 25-14, tied for first in the Florida State League South with Palm Beach.

CEDAR RAPIDS 5, CLINTON 4 IN CLINTON

The Kernels led 5-0 after three, but the LumberKings had the tying run on third when the game ended.

Batting stars:  Ben Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.  Jared Akins was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, his second.  Gilberto Celestino was 1-for-2 with two walks.

PItching star:  Blayne Enlow pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk and striking out six.

Opposition star:  Will Banfield was 2-for-4 with a home run, his third.

Stats:  Gabe Snyder was 0-for-4 and is batting .306.  Enlow has an ERA of 2.45 over his last three starts (18.2 innings), dropping his season ERA from 7.64 to 4.95.

Record:  The Kernels are 18-22, sixth in the MIdwest League Western, eight games behind Quad Cities.
