ROCHESTER 9, PAWTUCKET 2 IN ROCHESTER (COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME)

The Red Wings had scored six in the first before the game was suspended and made it hold up.

Batting stars:  Tomas Telis was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.  Jordany Valdespin was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.  Nick Gordon was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.

Pitching stars:  Sean Poppen struck out seven in six innings, giving up one run on three hits and three walks.  Trevor Hildenberger pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

Opposition star:  Domingo Tapia pitched four shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk and striking out two.

Stats:  Valdespin is batting .342.  Gordon is batting .333.  Poppen has an ERA of 2.45.

PAWTUCKET 7, ROCHESTER 6 IN ROCHESTER (SCHEDULED GAME--8 INNINGS--SCHEDULED FOR 7 INNINGS)

The Red Wings scored two in the seventh to tie it but could not complete the comeback.

Batting stars:  Wilin Rosario was 2-for-3.  Zander Weil was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs.  Randy Cesar was 2-for-4.  LaMonte Wade was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his third) and a walk, scoring twice.

Pitching star:  Gabriel Moya struck out two in two perfect innings.

Opposition star:  Josh Ockimey was 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk, scoring three times.

Stats:  Jordany Valdespin was 1-for-4 and is batting .339.

Record:  The Red Wings are 17-29, sixth (last) in the International League North, 9.5 games behind Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

PENSACOLA 11, TENNESSEE 10 IN TENNESSEE

The Blue Wahoos came back from trailing 10-4 through six innings.  Travis Blankenhorn homered in the ninth for the deciding run.

Batting stars:  Blankenhorn was 4-for-6 with a double, a home run (his eighth), and four RBIs.  Mitchell Kranson was 3-for-5 with a double.  Ben Rortvedt was 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk, driving in three.

Pitching stars:  Jeff Ames struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.  Tyler Jay pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out one.  Williams Ramirez pitched 1.2 perfect innings and struck out one.

Opposition star:  Jared Young was 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.

Stats:  Rortvedt is batting .321.  Blankenhorn is batting .319.  Ames has an ERA of 2.66.  Cody Stashak allowed three runs in 1.2 innings and has an ERA of 2.92.  Ryan Mason allowed three runs in two-thirds of an inning and has an ERA of 2.35.  Ramirez has an ERA of zero.

DAYTONA 5, FORT MYERS 3 IN DAYTONA

The Tortugas scored three in the seventh to overcome a 3-2 deficit.

Batting stars:  Royce Lewis was 2-for-4 with a triple.  Malique Ziegler was 2-for-4 with a double.  Jose Miranda was 1-for-4 with a home run.  Trevor Larnach was 1-for-4 with a home run.

Pitching stars:  Jhoan Duran struck out fourteen in six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on one hit and two walks.  Alex Phillips struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.

Opposition star:  Drew Mount was 2-for-4.

Stats:  Lewin Diaz was 0-for-2 with a walk and is batting .311.  Phillips has an ERA of 0.53.

Record:  The Miracle is 28-21 in the Florida State League South, tied for second with Bradenton, three games behind Palm Beach.

CEDAR RAPIDS 14, PEORIA 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

The Kernels scored seven in the second.
