    1. I know. He made a brilliant play yesterday and then has dropped two throws to him. Neither was a great throw, but both should have been caught, that's for sure.

  1. Nice job by Gibson after a bad start. After the single and walk, he came back with a strikeout and 3 ground balls. Unfortunately, one found a hole and another guy reached on an error but finally got the DP.

    1. I'm going with the get one call right every 4 games or so route. It's a steady pace but admittedly may not overcome Meat's 1000 points.

  2. Jorge was ready for the changeup.

Gio's "walk the pitcher to face the top of the lineup with the bases loaded" strategy did not pay dividends.

  3. Oh, sure, day game with an Oprah Bomba approach. Goddamn it. I am totally sure I would have won a daily double at long last.

  4. Well hey, my complaints about Gibson's nibbling are rooted in numbers as well as eye test.

  5. Morneau sounding more and more polished in the booth. I'd like them to use him for as many games as he's interested in next year.

  6. Cleveland loses. If the Twins win, they're a game and a half up. With our bullpen, it's a cinch, right?

  7. Not a fan of the delayed strike three call. I was all prepared to be annoyed, then he made the correct call.

  8. Cleveland now heads into 4 game series in NYY on a 2 game losing streak. That .700 win pace is in danger.

    1. It would be par for the course if the one time I want the Yankees to win, they went into a slump and lost three of four or something.

    1. I give all benefit of the doubt to the player that isn't Sano in that situation - is that unfair?

  9. Was it just me, or could you hear in Provus' voice that something bad was going to happen on that ground ball to Polanco?

  10. This isn't fair. The brewers deserve to lose every single game for the rest of the season as punishment for that dumb and dumber bit from a couple innings ago.

    1. Nah, it was a bit of levity. Nothing wrong with that.

And, so far as "fair" goes, our bullpen has been very indiscriminately generous lately.

      1. I muted it as soon as Hader started talking because it was awful as opposed to levity. Sub-SNL bad.

  11. Also the woman in the crowd with the full sleeves has been on quite a Rollercoaster of emotions this inning.

  12. I guess it's better than getting blown out, but the number of winnable games this team has given away is really frustrating.

  13. Sergio gave up the home run, but he didn't deserve a blown save after the error and weak ground ball find a hole, possibly because the defense was playing for a double play instead of where they would have been with nobody on base.

  14. Twins drop to 8-3 when they score 5 runs. 5 is typically the magic number. They have a losing record when they score just 4. Also, Twins 14-14 when a lefty starts against them.

  15. Fourth game they've lost in the last month with the bases loaded for the final out. Amazing.

  16. It should be more, but still, the Twins have the lead in the division despite the Indians having Clevinger and Bieber pitching at home vs. slumping Red Sox and the Twins at Milwaukee with Perez and Gibson pitching. Indians lose twice and the Twins split. In today's game, the Red Sox went with a bullpen game and the Indians could only manage 4 hits, all singles.

    1. It could be worse, and I appreciate that. A split in Milwaukee isn't a bad thing. It's just that it could easily have been better.
