The Blue Wahoos stay alive and the Kernels start their second round.

PENSACOLA 10, BILOXI 5 IN BILOXI

The Blue Wahoos scored five in the ninth to break a 5-5 tie.  Mark Contreras was 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs.  Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth of the playoffs), two runs, and two RBIs.  Jose Miranda was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs.  Ryan Jeffers was 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs, and three RBIs.

Pensacola went with a bullpen game, using an opener for one inning and four relievers for two innings each.  Marcos Diplan struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Tom Hackimer struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Jonathan Cheshire pitched two shutout innings, giving up a hit and two walks.

The Blue Wahoos have tied the best-of-five series 2-2.

CLINTON 4, CEDAR RAPIDS 0 IN CLINTON

Evan Edwards hit a two-run homer in the second for all the runs the LumberKings would need.  Tyler Webb was 2-for-3 with a triple.  Nate Hadley struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Denny Bentley retired all four men he faced, striking out three.

The Kernels fall behind 1-0 in the best-of-three series.
