January 7, 2020: With Apologies To Steely Dan

I went back to my old school over here, and it’s been improved by about 1,000% (and that’s not really an exaggeration). I wanted to grab some of the current students by the shoulders and scream, “You don’t know what it was like!!!”

  1. Last year, the sun set a record for being spot-free 281 days (77%) of the year, and this year so far every day has had some form of sunspot(s). We're still at solar minimum, but slowly eking our way into the next cycle.

    1. More surprising than who's at the top of the list is who is still considered "active". Conversely, it's sad that so many players fade away, and we don't get to properly recognize them instead of just finding out that they haven't played since 2016.

      1. Yeah, I was surprised to learn that number five was still playing, only to find out that he's.....not. He remains one of my friends' favorite players.

  2. Also, if anyone hasn’t already noticed, vids aren’t something I can really focus on right now. If anyone wants to unofficially guest DJ swapping days with DK until about the 14th, it’s all you. First taker is the winner.

  3. Podcasts anyone?

I just finished Our Land. Riveting and informative. Now looking forward to the supremes judgment.

Did the black dahlia Root of Evil thing, also fascinating and really, really dark.

Against the rules, also great. Less Malcom gladwell, please.

Slow Burn seasons 1 and 2 hooked me, as did Last Seen, though that one applies to my profession and my Passion Hobby.

In the dark season 1 was great, season 2 okay. Though I’m actively following Curtis Flowers now.

    Ear hustle is still great.

But now I’m looking for something new and not about Dolly Parton. What y’all listening at?

    1. Less Malcom Gladwell, please.

Last time in Minny I saw Tim Hortons going in to Forest Lake, just sayin.
