      1. It doesn't really matter, I suppose, but I'm annoyed that almost all the reporting on this is saying "The Twins backed out of the deal." The deal was made, and Boston tried to change it at the last minute. That's Boston backing out, not Minnesota.

        1. Good point. I was mad at the Red Sox for the BS of saying it was Graterol's medicals, when it's pretty obvious they just wanted an excuse to back out because of the huge backlash of the trade. But the more I think of the Dodgers trying to trade Verdugo and Maeda for Betts and Price and bunch of cash, that's ridiculous. They basically are trading away guys that would be moved off the team by the new players anyways. They just upgraded for the cost of the difference in salaries and are getting paid to do it with the cash the Red Sox supposedly were throwing in.

          1. I’m completely open to the Boston-Los Angeles component being a trade the Commissioner’s Office should have vetoed anyway out of the best interests of baseball. But the Maeda for Graterol portion of the swap seemed very fair.

    1. Ownership having second thoughts about how broke they are.

  1. Been off and on watching this XFL game and it's not terrible. Kind of like watching a mid teir Big 12 college football game

    1. I don't know why the Twitter link isn't working, but here is what it says:

Latest on the Betts trade (1/2): per source, the Red Sox are focused on getting a deal done with the Dodgers above all else. The Twins appear to be out of the three-way deal, though a separate trade for Maeda remains in play.
(2/2) If the Sox and Dodgers can’t come to a deal, other teams - including the Padres - could jump back into the mix for Betts. No deal likely to happen before Sunday.

  2. Delmon Young is playing for Melbourne in the Aussie League through 40 games he is slashing .345/.394/.662/1.056

    He is 33 years old

    1. Apparently last night was the last game of the season with Melbourne winning the ABLCS. Also on that team is former Twins great "Sugar" Shane Robinson and Former Twins Legend Luke Hughes

    1. This probably isn't a good team yet, but they are way not fun than they were four days ago and I really want to see them with Russell playing.
