Kent Hrbek Region: #1 vs. #16

#1 Seed: Larkin Walks It Off

#16 Seed: Mike Sweeney Pops Into Infield Fly Double Play, Gets Nailed by Dougie

On May 30th, 2004 the Twins defeated the Royals like they often did, and this time with the help of some confused Royals baserunners. I can't find any video of the play, but thankfully, Batgirl reenacted everything with Legos! Click on the link to see the play in all its glory.

    1. I don't remember the name of it now, but when I was a kid I had this book that had a slew of weird plays like this that challenged the umps/scorekeepers. It was cool because it listed the exact game, the players involved, how it was called at the time, and in many cases how it should have been called. Anyone recall a book like that?

      1. Baseball Digest had a column called You Make the Call or something like that, and there was a compilation made, but in those they were "based on a real play"

        1. Yeah, I'm looking for the book online but not finding it. I had it like in '68-70 maybe, so probably printed before that.

However, I did run into this. Fun

  1. Look at that first comment on the BatGirl post.

Thank you BatGirl for saving me much tossing and turning by explaining this play of plays!

I vaguely remember following along with this on Yahoo's version of Gameday (whatever that was called). The PbP did not make any sense for this mess.
