We ride into Ohio behind King Kenta* who is coming off perhaps the best performance of his career. He'll face off against Civale, who like any member of the Cleveland pitching staff, is "pretty good".
The Twins are only 1.5 games ahead of the Spiders, so this three game series will be an important one.
Kenta-san:
(*everybody wanna cut the legs off him.)
there goes the no hitter
solo HRs don't hurt
The board: on.
BOMBA
unfortunately, I missed Cruz's missile.
Fortunately, it was because I was making cocktails (vodka gimlets)
Civale has a really good curveball working tonight
Cleveland has had great pitching so far this year. Best RA/G, FIP and WHIP in the majors coming into tonight.
BR rates Cleveland's starters at 4.0 wins above average so far. The Padres are second with 2.2 WAA. Twins are 11th. Cleveland does not have the best bullpen, where they're only fourth. Their position players meanwhile rank 28th.
damn good relay got Arreaz
way closer than I originally thought
According to baseball-reference.com, that's Rocco's 17th challenge of the season. He's gotten 6 calls overturned., or 35.3%. Last year he made 39 challenges and had 12 overturned. or 30.8%.
For all of baseball this year, there have been 343 challenges, with 150 overturned (43.7%).
I believe it's the replay room that judges whether it's worth challenging. I wonder how much input the manager has other than indicating he might challenge.
You're probably right.
Eddie! Let's get him home, Sano.
That's the best way to get him home!
Sano!!!!
Sanoball!
They're really taking aim at Flo
I couldn't tell if that bat toss was frustration or indication he was about to take a stroll.
all of a sudden, the hits are flowing.
Picked a good time to wrap up work and turn this game on!
feeling good after last night, Geoff?
Twins win - Jazz win - Vegas Knights 5-0 win - plenty of alcohol - it was a good day.
might be a good place to send Cave.
Down?
time to make dinner. Carry 'em home, boyz.
Oliver Perez has played so long, he played games in San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium
Some uncomfortably loud outs for Romo. On the plus side, Cleveland is inept at the batting thing.
Romo's not making any friends in any of the opposing dugouts
Probably not, but I loved it.
Time to prepare for another Rogers appearance. BABIP ticked up to .433 after last game.
Oof. *goes for medication*
*whew*
Not a perfect inning, but uneventful.
