Five years today since Prince passed.
I picked my folks up at Louis Armstrong Airport that day. I can still see the shocked and upset face my old man made when I told him the news. Funny how Prince had the ability to mean something to people who didn't even particularly like his music.
Today is his birthday. He died on April 21st, which is my birthday.
I was about to say. I remember because it was a day or two before I went to Japan.
oops -- what I meant, fifth birthday since his passing. Although technically his sixth, I guess. Mondays.
Today is also my brother Larry's birthday, so I have some strong mnemonic aids on this one.
Is your name in real life Darryl, and do you have a brother named Darryl?

Just got back from camping and pretending-to-fish in Voyageurs National Park. Yeesh. It felt like Cancun on the Canadian border.
My friend has a cabin on his own island on Rainy Lake north of the border. I love that place so much.
