A sacrifice fly brought home the deciding run.

Tim Beckham was 2-for-5 with two doubles.
Jake Cave was 1-for-4 with a grand slam (his eleventh homer) and a walk.

Starter Cole Sands pitched five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks and striking out seven.
Jake Petricka struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.
Ian Hamilton pitched 1.1 innings, giving up an unearned run on no hits and no walks and striking out one.

Starter Louie Varland pitched six innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits and three walks and striking out six.
Cody Laweryson struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Jordan Gore struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

The Wind Surge is 4-4, tied for second with Northwest Arkansas and Springfield in the Texas League North, one game behind Arkansas.

QUAD CITIES 5, CEDAR RAPIDS 3 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Luca Tresh hit a two-run homer in the fifth to break a 2-2 tie.

The Kernels are 3-8, tied for fifth (last) with Peoria in the Midwest League West. six games behind South Bend and Wisconsin.  The Kernels won the first-half championship.
