January 16, 2023: The Purpose of Education

"To save man from the morass of propaganda, in my opinion, is one of the chief aims of education. Education must enable one to sift and weigh evidence, to discern the true from the false, the real from the unreal, and the facts from the fiction."

    1. We've all seen Cousins throw behind the first down mark in critical conversion situations enough to know the lyrics.

    2. My favorite take from yesterday about the third down right before the false start on the QB sneak:

    3. I think it was a terrible play call. Three 15-25 yard routes and a 3 yard route when you need 8.

    4. I would agree with putting JJ in the slot there as opposed to the other side where he could be doubled. But in the play that was actually run, I would have thrown it out there for him rather than that check down though. He's your best player. See if he can make a play with the season on the line.

      1. Yes. You have to give your player a chance. Maybe he makes a great play--it certainly wouldn't be the first. Or maybe there's a pass interference call. Or maybe you get lucky with a deflection. Just about anything is better than a three-yard pass on fourth and eight.

Saying that, though, I'm not trying to put the blame for the loss on Kirk Cousins. I think he did poorly on one play, but that's one play. The defense has not been good all year, and it wasn't in this game, either.

  1. I totally did not see the Vikings losing yesterday.
