I've been going to the same auto shop for over a decade now. It's in my old neighborhood, but I still go back there. They have like, 4.8 stars on the G-machine. What kind of shop manages that?

Free, I get all excit d to take a trip across the state to see GBV and what do they do? BOOK A SHOW IN MY HOMETOWN THE DAY BEFORE.
As far as I can tell they hadn't played Buffalo since 99/2000 era. Sadly I will be traveling to another city that day and will miss the Buffalo show. Oh well.
It will still be a blast. I am booked to go to Dayton over Labor Day Weekend for the GBV 40th anniversary shindig. Two nights. First night GBV with Dinosaur Jr. Second Night with Built to Spill, Heartless Bastards, and Wednesday. Will be crazy. My only regret is my flight leaves Sunday morning at 8:00a mere hours after that second night show wraps up. The rest of Labor Day weekend will be recovery at home.
Sounds awesome. I am taking the train. Leaving Friday morning at 6am and departing Sunday around 11. Should be plenty of time to relax on the way back.

We're taking the Amtrak to St. Louie. I was thinking the youngest might be impressed, but he just rode the Shinkansen a couple days ago.
Being impressed can work both ways.

Man, Shinkansen is definitely on my bucket list, but for now I'll be happy to take a swing at Frecciarossa in October.
The Hayabusa and Komachi lines are the fastest (I've been on the Komachi line a number of times). They push about 200mph.
Frecciarossa from Milan to Turin runs ~190mph (Italy's speed limit) but in tests has reached 245mph
Yeah, I'm not sure the max, but that's the speed it comfortably runs at.
I hit 300 kph (~185 mph) on the AVE between Madrid and Malaga

Backs are strange things. Mrs. A will always caution me when I'm about to pick up something heavy, but heavy has nothing to do with it. I can hurt my back bending over to pick up a piece of paper if I don't do it right. Hang in there. You're in our prayers.
The first time I threw my back out post-discharge it was getting into the car to go meet friends for breakfast.

an interesting read. I was a hugely huge Weezer fan until Make Believe. Around the same time the Weezer fan message board I hung out on disintegrated and really havent got back into the =w= since. I still visit their first 4 albums from time to time.
