  1. Saturday, Estrellas defeated Licey 1-0. The lone run scored on a sacrifice fly by Webster Rivas. Lewin Diaz was 2-for-4. Fernando Tatis, Jr. was 2-for-3 with a double. Robinson Cano was 2-for-4. Andy Otero pitched five shutout innings, giving up four hits and striking out two. The win went to Gerson Moreno, who pitched a perfect inning. Neftali Feliz pitched a perfect ninth, striking out one, to get the save.

    Sunday, Estrellas lost to the Gigantes 5-4. Melvin Mercedes delivered the deciding run with an RBI single in the ninth. Lewin Diaz was 1-for-5. Webster Rivas was 3-for-5 with a double. Robinson Cano was 3-for-5. Dairon Blanco was 2-for-4. Roel Santos was 2-for-4. Starter Esmil Rogers lasted just one inning, allowing four runs on five hits. Jared Wilson took the loss, allowing one run on a hit and a walk in one-third of an inning.

    Estrellas remains in first place, leading Licey by two games with a 10-5 record. The round-robin tournament has three games remaining, with the games to be played Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

  2. Love a commute where the engine temp gauge barely moves. Also, the roads sucked. I should have worked from home today.

    1. I saw a lot of makeshift radiator covers when I worked in the auto shop back in the day. You'd be surprised how often people do that and then forget until it warms up and the engine overheats.

    1. Dudes. It’ll get really cold (for here) over the next 48 hours. Already the state has announced the closure of all offices, several parishes have called off school, and the archdiocese has closed. I may get a free 4 day weekend.

    2. School not canceled here, but I'm definitely working from home. I had to go in today and the roads were brutal.
