Escogido evens the series at three as a LEWWWWWW-led comeback falls short for Licey.
ESCOGIDO 9, LICEY 6 IN LICEY
Twins: Dan Rohlfing (Licey) was used on defense but did not bat.
Escogido: Gregory Polanco (Pittsburgh) was 1-for-2 with four walks, scoring three times and driving in one. Jesus Feliciano was 2-for-3 with two walks, scoring once and driving in four. Carlos Santana (Cleveland) was 1-for-3 with two walks and a double, scoring once and driving in one.
Licey: Lew Ford was 2-for-3 with two home runs, scoring three times and driving in three. Eugenio Velez (Milwaukee) was 1-for-2 with a walk and a double, scoring once. Juan Sosa (Miami) struck out two in 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and three walks.
The game: A two-run double by Santana and RBI singles by Feliciano and Ramon Santiago gave Escogido a 4-0 lead in the first. Feliciano's two-run single in the second made it 6-0 and appeared to put Escogido in control of the game. Licey got two in the bottom of the second on a Velez RBI double and a sacrifice fly. Ford homered in the fourth to make it 6-3. Ford struck again in the sixth with a two-run homer to cut the lead to 6-5, and a pair of singles and a sacrifice fly tied the score in the seventh. In the eighth, however, Escogido went back in front 7-6 on a walk and a pair of errors. Escogido got two more in the ninth on an RBI double by Jordan Lennerton (Detroit) and a run-scoring single by Polanco. Licey did not bring the tying run up to bat in the ninth.

Escogido wins its third straight game. Escogido and Licey are now tied in the best-of-nine series at three games each.
