April 19, 2025: In House
I didn't have to use them much, but I'm so glad I don't have to use laundromats anymore. Most of the places I lived had it in the basement, or even better, a few doors down the hall. I don't know why I disliked it so much. Maybe having to go back multiple times to accomplish only one annoying task? It's not a huge thing, but I'm glad I don't have to go inside each time I see one.

Opening your phone and wondering why you did so is the new going to a room and forgetting why you went.

The water heater that came with our house has been a champ. I'm a little embarrassed to tell you the year it was installed actually, but though not on the top of its game, it's always been at least serviceable. The last place we rented once had a water heater emergency that I'd like to avoid (and that's also the last time I remember being able to call an owner and say, hey, take care of this; I miss that).
Anyway, two questions:
- Name a current or former Twins player that's never been outright good, but has at least been goodish now and then, but also never outright bad. Bonus points for someone that maintained that until the end of their career.
- Uhh, any recommendations for a natural gas water heater replacement? Again, it's working "fine", but better to replace before it's a problem. I have no dog in the tank vs. tankless fight.

Work is making the move to Windows 11, and since I'm one of the "techy" people (I use that term extremely relatively; I am just compare to the rest in my office), I'm a part of the trial group making the switch today. I've been clicking the ignore upgrade button for a long time now on my home PC, so we'll see how this goes. Whenever MS makes "improvements" or "upgrades", they always get rid of a lot of simple but very useful functions in the process. Can't wait to see how much of a pain is the new version.

April 15, 2025: The Final Countdown
Get those 1040s in, Citizens! I was, shockingly, a little late getting mine in this year, but they're in. Ours isn't so complex so we just use that one software, but I finally remembered to buy it from Costco instead of the website to save on filing fees.
2025 Game Log XVII: New York Metropolitans vs. Minnesota Twins
Truth be told, I haven't watched a lot of baseball this season. Very little, in fact. If the Wolves are on, even though they take some crushing loses here and there, they're at least fun, so I flip over there. Even the Wild are more fun, and it's been a frustrating year. Anyway, no Wolves or Wild tonight. No Loons either. Guess this is what I'll have on tonight. Go Team!
April 14, 2025: On Schedule
My company has always given out these pocket sized, company branded schedulers each New Years. They're pretty handy, actually. It's got monthly pages and daily by week schedules, plus a good chunk of blank sheets in the back for notes, and little plastic pockets on the inside of the covers that are great for stashing a few business cards.
Anyway, every year I would grab one in the hopes of using it, then every year would crash out around mid- to late-January. Last year was the first year I managed to utilize it the whole year. In fact, I had to grab a new one around November because my original one was falling apart. Now, I love these little guys.
