Esmerling Vasquez should get a September call-up.

Matt Carson puts the “double” in doubleheader. The Twins won’t give Anthony Slama a chance, but could he really be worse than Jeff Gray? Comebacks go for naught in New Britain and Elizabethton. Miguel Sano has a big day for Beloit.

Beloit produces the lone Twins victory. A rough start for Kyle Gibson. A big day for Wilkin Ramirez. The GCL Twins fall short.

Tough rehab start for P. J. Walters. Lots of big offensive nights at the lower levels. Daniel Ortiz, Angel Morales, Eddie Rosario, Max Kepler, and John Murphy all had three or more hits. A fine outing for Madison Boer. The GCL Twins move into a tie for first with one game left. Jason Pridie and Yohan Pino make the Twins pay.

Where They Stand
Two teams are in the playoffs, two are a game out, one has an outside shot, two have been eliminated. The major league team, of course, will make the playoffs with a record of 89-73.

Chris Parmelee has nothing to learn in Rochester. No snap in the Snappers’ bats. A big game for Max Kepler. Lots of errors in the DSL. A Denny McLain sighting!

Tony Bernazard (1956)
Cal Ripken (1960)
Tim Salmon (1968)

Nick Adenhart (1986)
No major league players with connections to the Minnesota Twins were born on this day. We do come close with Hal Woodeshick, who played for Washington in 1960, but then was chosen by the new Washington in the expansion draft in 1961.
