Cooling Off
Did a 6.5 mile run this morning with my peeps at Fleet Feet. Morning temps are starting to force some additional layers.
Saturday, October 19, 2013, Fall Double
Got in a nice 5mi run with the gang at my running store this morning. Everyone is still a little sore from last week's Hartford Half Marathon. And since my club closes at 1 on Sat, I got in there in time to get in some laps as well.
Pt Bhimsen Joshi – Raag Deskar
Last track for this week from up here in the playhouse.
Bhimsen and his Cahunto laying down some tracks (and some good kanpura riffs as well).
Pair with some IPA and Madras Curry (refer to NBB recipe posted earlier on the WGOM).

Maná – Labios Compartidos
NBBW and I saw Fher and the lads at a concert at Foxwoods a couple years back.
It was an Hispanic, not a Mexican concert. There were numerous Latino country flags being waved in the audience. So, there'd be like: Viva Panama!! (and the Panamanians would all shout), etc.

Budapest Klezmer Band – Sirba
Summat Klezmer - you know you need it. Not bad for a couple Hungarian lads.

Buena Vista Social Club – Candela
Ibrahim Ferrer and his Cuban cats at their finest.

Cesária Évora – Sodade
First read about this Cape Verde gal in an Economist obit, and it wasn't long before I had a couple of her songs in my playlist. Famous for singing in her bare feet.

Tokyo Police Club – Your English is Good
This week a little spin around the Big O, starting with the North Coast.
I first ran into Tokyo Police Club, a NewMarket, Ontario band, on the CBC Radio 3 podcasts several years back.
NBBW and I saw them in concert last year as the opening band for The New Pornographers at Ram's Head in Baltimore.
Also check out Tesselate, Wait Up, Juno, Nature of the Experiment, and Favorite Color.
