English pop duo Go West's debut single was the catchy "We Close Our Eyes", and after a little success they hit it big with "The King of Wishful Thinking", which was used in Pretty Women. Well, apparently The King is done wishing, because now he's dead.
This track shows off Peter Cox' fine vocals; all this torch song is missing is a smoky speakeasy. I had a great week -- thanks for playing along.
One of my favorites by that Becker/Fagan duo.
Can't be a Rhubarb_Runner week without some soundtrack music. My favorite soundtrack composer playing piano on my favorite song by him. This was used in the movie Spirited Away during the incredibly beautiful and melancholy water train sequence.
And below the break, the composer conducts Princess Mononoke Symphonic Suite (and plays piano), from the movie Princess Mononoke.

Thought I'd post some Twins cards with photos that caught my fancy. Some you've probably seen before, some might be new -- all of them caught a certain interesting moment in time.
1994 Topps Gold #543 Larry Casian "Shower time, Larry"; 2003 Playoff Prestige #81 Torii Hunter "backwards K"; 2010 Bowman #137 Delmon Young "Whoa! Uh lookout, whoa!"; 2004 Topps Total #81 Matt LeCroy "Huff puff huff puff..."
Although I had another post in mind for the second Collectibles Spotlight, this one prempted. My LCS (that's "Local Card Shop" in baseball card blogger parlance) got in some of this year's Topps team sets, and besides all the Cardinals sets he picked up a Twins set for me as well.
