One particular Twins card from this year's Topps Update set is an eye catcher: Rene Tosoni in front of a back drop of St. Louis' Belgium's finest. Besides wanting to share this card with The Nation, I was also curious how closely we could get to identifying the exact play?

I absolutely love this photo (which is a clipping from Sports Illustrated, I'm certain), but I don't know who it is. Photo on the back shows Bob Lemon (I believe) in a blue TC hat. Too good not share, in any case.
Thought I'd post some Twins cards with photos that caught my fancy. Some you've probably seen before, some might be new -- all of them caught a certain interesting moment in time.

Although I had another post in mind for the second Collectibles Spotlight, this one prempted. My LCS (that's "Local Card Shop" in baseball card blogger parlance) got in some of this year's Topps team sets, and besides all the Cardinals sets he picked up a Twins set for me as well.

I noticed a while back that the various baseball card companies have been pretty single-minded in their choices for front photos for Shane Mack's baseball cards. Shane was a favorite of mine, and if you collected baseball cards in the early '90s, you'd know that he was quite the hustler on the base paths. To the left is his 1991 Upper Deck card #188.
