I should pop in a few of my favorites of 2019 quick. This album was definitely up there for me.

Sharon Van Etten – Seventeen
In all seriousness when it comes to songs of 2019 for me this has to be up there
Bon Iver – Salem
Can't find any non-audience vids of Hey, Ma but any year JV puts out new music we gotta fit in in the Best of somewhere
Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus & Keith Urban – Old Town Road
Kind of hard to believe this was big just this year, feels like it's from 2011 or something

おとぼけビーバー – 脱・日陰の女
My Best of 2019 is without question Otoboke Beaver. In fact, they should be hitting the stage about the same time this video posts.
Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets – “Love Starvation”
We live in an online world that's controlled by algorithms. There's not much I can do to stop it, I mostly just roll my eyes at what these algorithms think I like. A flying vacuum? Sign me up for 5! 26 hour a day all Christmas music station? Hook it straight into my veins!
But, every once in a while these algorithms get it right. "Love Starvation" popped into my YouTube recommended videos and since it was Nick Low I gave it a click. I loved this song five seconds into it. Instantly bought the Love Starvation/Trombone EP and played it about 500 times. Here is a live performance of that song. I hope you enjoy!
Best of 2019: Lana Del Rey “California”

I find LDR's live performances hard to watch and her recent videos only OK. I think it's that her voice sells so much irony that her face doesn't convey.
But her record is fantastic, so here's a fan video (despite the "official" in the video title). Song selection driven in part by wanting to keep it clean.
Bleached – Hard to Kill
This is better than what I usually would play on Sundays so you folks better listen to it
Best of 2019: Hozier “Almost (Sweet Music)”
More often than not, Hozier hits the sweet spot for me.
Angélique Kidjo – Afirika
Angélique Kidjo‘s Celia, a contemplation of Celia Cruz’s African roots, might be my favorite album of the year. Maybe I should’ve chosen a video of her singing “La Vida es un Carnaval” or “Bemba Colorá” or “Sahara” for this, but I wanted to showcase Kidjo’s interaction with her audience at her BBC Proms debut this year. I can’t help but smile every time I watch it. This music, this kind of performance draws hearts together. In the weeks to come, I think we could all use a good reason to smile together.
