I've heard a lot about H.E.R., but this performance from last Sunday's ceremony is the first I've seen (she was nominated for five (including AotY) and took home two). It won't be the last.
Aretha was not just the Queen of Soul. She was a great performer and an amazing individual. She will be missed.

Because she totes should have won the grammy. Totes. Should. And because she's beyonce.
In what I'm told was the only real upset of the night, Beck takes home the Golden Glove for Album of the Year. I still feel Sea Change is the superior album in almost every way, but whatever. One more for the shelf for the musician-poet who transcends genres even as he re-invents them.

I didn't watch the Grammys (nor did I have any intention to), and afterwards, the only thing I heard about that sounded interesting was this. Here it is, including the controversial early hook which left certain participants, err, unhappy.
