Ponce 6, Carolina 2 in Ponce.  Angel Morales was used as a defensive substitute for Ponce but did not bat.

Perth 16, Sydney 1 in Sydney (Game 1).  Todd Van Steensel surrendered four runs on eight hits in 1.2 innings for Sydney.

Este 8, Oriente 6 in Oriente.  Esmerling Vasquez took the loss, surrendering two runs (one earned) on two hits in a third of an inning for Oriente.

PUERTO RICAN LEAGUE

Ponce 4, Mayaguez 2 in Ponce.  Angel Morales was 1-for-3 and scored once for Ponce.  Eddie Rosario was 1-for-4 with a triple and a run for Mayaguez.  Nelvin Fuentes pitched a perfect inning for Mayaguez.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Magallanes 7, Caracas 2 in Caracas.  Deolis Guerra got the win, working 2.1 perfect innings with four strikeouts for Magallanes.

Lara 3, Anzoategui 2 in Lara.  Lester Oliveros pitched a perfect inning for Anzoategui.
