In a split from their normal sound, here's a stripped down set from these Columbian-turned-Brooklynites.

I've played these two a couple of times (at least I think I have...). I saw them again last week in Baton Rouge, and they never disappoint. Remember, it's not what you've got, it's what you make.
Here's a blast from the past (which is probably where it should have been left).

This unassuming young woman has some extremely advanced songwriting skills. I've been going through her first couple albums repeatedly.

I was debating whether I should post an Epica video, since there's been a number of them in the past because they are awesome. Instead, I decided to go with a band with a similar sound (though who have been split-up for awhile now.)

Another band leaning more towards the traditional metal side of things, hailing from Alberta. I picked up their most recent on a whim and its an all around ass kicker.

Today's entry (and tomorrow's, really) goes towards a more traditional metal style. This is a band I just found about a month ago and their latest album, Black Lotus is killer from beginning to end.
