    1. I got a live look-in for that at-bat. When he plouffed it over towards Cabrerra, I got hopeful. It was such a crappy grounder, that even ol' drunky could take care of it.

  1. This may be the free pizza and cookies that I'm having for lunch today talking, but I think the Twins are going to win this game. The key hit will be Revere's inside-the-park home run.

    1. I am really cheering for Revere to get an inside-the-parker. Today would be a great day for it.

    2. Free pizza and cookies = free lunch :: Tiger errors today = free runs.

      The math works out.

  2. nibbish makes a bet against Butera, Butera starts hitting. nibs, you wouldn't mind betting against him, oh, weekly would you?

        1. I was watching - Birthday lunch at the bar! - and that one actually looked like a balk, since there was stutter stepping.

      1. Is there a game the Twins are sure to at least maybe win so the entire game log doesn't consist of 🙁 's?

  3. Sweet - hadn't refreshed in awhile and it went from:

I see we've gotten 4 hits and no runs to show for it. Standard.

    to

And I also re-tract anything bad I've said about Plouffe today.

  4. Just passing through (damned day games)

But I wanted to note that my newspaper capsule summaries indicated that in yesterday's games, Jamie Moyer (a) got an infield hit that (b) scored TWO runs.

I'm not sure which of those I find more astounding.

    1. if I remember the highlight this morning, Moyer hit a slow roller tot he 1B dude and the pitcher was slow to cover and the Rockies on base just kept running.

  5. Wait, what happened to the give-back runs? Walters not pitching the Twins Way.

  6. fielding error on the Tiggers. In other news, the sun rose in the East this morning.

  7. In other notes, the scout feature on mlb gameday is entirely worthless (Fister has plenty left in the tank, cause he's throwing 89 mph fastballs!)

    1. Man I hate the new version of gameday. I always make sure to switch it to the classic version.

  8. this PJ Walters character might be the second-best pitcher in Twins franchise history. After Scott Diamond, of course.

    1. I think when those two lead the Twins to a world series' title, the team should get their rings from this place.

  9. 2 base error was even tastier!

EDIT: 3 base error even tastier than that!

            1. What the heck is going on here? First it put this comment here, instead of at the bottom, and now it won't let me edit it... odd.

  10. There is so much joy to be had in a rival's perceived weakness being an actual weakness.

  11. Wait: Willingham safe at third on error by first baseman Prince Fielder? How can that possibly happen?

    1. Prince Fielder had to chase down a ball that he missed. It's really a credit to how hard he's worked on his speed that Willingham didn't score. Twice.

    1. Tigers also have people who aren't platoon worthy, so they can justify it a little more.

      1. You know how sometimes football receivers alligator arm a catch when they see the defender bearing down on them? It was basically the same thing. The ball may have tipped off of the end of his glove, but didn't slow down too much.

    1. I'm still laughing at Fielder from yesterday. This latest one might kill me!

  12. Okay. I'm going to bet my co-worker $1000 that Drew Butera isn't hitting .300 by the end of the year.

Of course, the way the universe will screw me over on that one will be for him to blow out a knee in this game, so many I shouldn't.

  13. I sense a theme to this game. I liked the way it started. Not so much now.

  14. Hey Guys, I just looked at the in-game boxscore on Gameday Classic.
Guess who in today's lineup has the highest BA?

  15. You've got to be kidding. How many lefties do we have and Gardy brings in Liriano? That's ridiculous.

    1. Yeah, I don't really see the logic. Liriano's struggling in the rotation, so let's give him a break in the bullpen. Hey, look! A one-run lead in the 7th, let's give it to a pitcher who has been struggling! Maybe the team's just been so bad that Gardy's forgotten what to do when the Twins are winning.

    2. to be fair, he and Capps were probably the 'freshest' arms out of the pen thanks to Blackburn and Marquis sucking

  16. I was surprised to join the game in progress and see that _etroit had only made two errors in seven innings... and then I read this game log and was reassured.

    1. Only? Two would put them on pace for 322 errors. I think that would just about break the record. Maybe.

  17. SWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Donuts for everyone!

    1. Hmmm... Dozier was called up 10 games ago. He's the Ricky Rubio of the 2012 MN Twins. All he does is win (50% of the time).

    1. This seems to be the working number... it's lasted longer than any other (well, at least as long).
