Deduno takes on Fister. This game is sort of a 'must win' for the Tigres, so i'd love to see them lose it. We'kre coming to the bitter end here. It's tremendously unlikely that the Hammer is going to gain another spot on th countup, so about the only things we have left are Mauer's hopeful batting title, and the chance to spoil other teams' playoff chances.
That's cool, too, I guess.
Dedudoh 🙁
Mauer doubles : .323
Cabrera grounds out: .332
Luckily we get a MN Fox station here in Northern Iowa. Actually, it's an upgrade since we get the HD feed free and not the FSNorth HD feed.
Holy cats! A twins game that I can listen to!11!!11111!one.... I'm not really that excited.
that is the 4th times Revere has hit into a double play. that seems like a lot for a guy who is a speedster. but when you bounce it to the pitcher a lot, I guess thats going to happen.
Miggy Cabrera has hit into 28 DP's. Mauer 22. #booo
Wow. This game smells like do-do.
C'mon uno...
You have GOT to be kidding
he is only 23 years old!
Oy. That seems about right.
this is the most HR Deduno has given up in a game since his first game as a Twin.
regression is a cruel mistress.
Enough of this. Time to finish packing
Mauer is now 2-2
Miggy donger 🙁
Well, soupstain should have just plunked him.
no way Mauer catches Cabrera when Cabrera is facing Twins pitching
Cabrera is now 22-49 with 5 HRs against the Twins this year. slash line of .449/.526/.857/1.383
exactly what I'm talkin' about
Mauer is batting .346 vs. the Tigers, .353 vs. the Yankees and .364 vs. the Blue Jays this year. I'm guessing Mauer is the biggest obstacle between Magglio and a triple crown.
Twins still have games against NYY and TOR
That was why I looked up his stats vs. those teams.
did anyone see that? did Casilla get called for runner interference while he was standing on the bag?
I only have Gameday on; I assumed 'Lexi did something stupid
I was watching football and flipped it back and FOX was showing a replay of it. It was a pop up near 2B. Casilla was standing on the base covering his head to protect himself from the pop up and Peralta was chasing the ball and trucked Casilla while he was standing on the base. Casilla was called out.
I don't see why he would cover his head... while he's wearing a helmet. If he did get hit on the head, it's just going to make his hands hurt.
Replacement refs.
I was only listening on the radio, but unless Cory and Kris completely butchered the call, the ump totally blew this call. Casilla has every right to stand on the base. He doesn't have to get out of the way. The only thing he can't do is go out of his way to intentionally interfere with the fielder.
It obviously didn't make any difference in the outcome, but it's annoying to have a veteran major league umpire who doesn't know the rules.
Drew Butera should pitch in the game.
I think MLB should bring back Scout on Gameday again next year, but instead call it No Sh!t
This comment deserves points and a plaque.
SEND HIM!!!!!!!!!
holy cats, Gameday must be screwed up, because those first to "balls" to Joe were squarely in the strike zone
positives? Well, Joe picked up .003 on Cabrera today, and I guess this makes it tougher for the White Sox
(why does USA Today's MLB stats page come up as 2013?)
If Mauer passes Cabrera and the Twins get swept by the Tigers the rest of the way to surpass the White Sox, I would call that a success.
Why you guys prefer Tigs over Sox?
Mortal enemies vs. Dicks? Tough choice.
I am rooting for a tie so that they have to have a Game 163, followed by a redeye to NYC.
This is really the best possible scenario. Is it too much to hope for a really ugly, error-filled 17 inning game for 163?
Maybe they could have a 22-inning game for 163, then be required by the Commish to forfeit the first game of the division series to the Yankmes because they couldn't get in time for the scheduled start?
Why you prefer Yankmes over Tigs or Sox?
the Twins are now 0-11 when scoring 0 runs.
1-8 when giving up 8
If you're going to either, you might as well do both and get them out of the way. Of course, they've done both too many times.
its the 2nd time this year they have lost 8-0. One time they lost 9-0
We tired out the Tigers by making them run around the bases today. We'll just have to settle for 73-89.
