WGOM Fitness: October 21, 2012, Weekly Recap

This was a challenging week for weightloss, as I was on a business trip, as I described in detail yesterday. Nevertheless, for the week, I lost 3.0 pounds, which is a pretty good week, considering the food choices I had and the lack of workout opportunities. I have been not feeling well this week, for sure, so I did not work out a single time between Monday and Friday. I am feeling better now, so I'm back on the exercise routine.

Yesterday, I raked the yard purely for the exercise. I cleared off 120 gallons of leaves and today it appears that I didn't actually rake yesterday. That's okay, I'll probably do it again this afternoon. Late in the afternoon yesterday, I went to the gym and rode for 35 minutes. The machine I was riding sometimes loses the heartbeat signal, in which case it defaults to a manual ride. I turned it up and let it go. Eventually, the signal came back and I was at 148 BPM, which is well above the 80% level for me. I felt good and not worn out. I think this means I've gotten in much better shape. But, still, I do not want to ride that hard.

I am looking forward to a good week. I'll be at home until Wednesday morning and then I'll head out for an 8 day trip. I will exercise in ND -- I have a trip to the Capitol City in there -- and things are looking good.

One more thing: JeffA, thank you for what you do. You were a big part of the old site, and I always appreciated what you did for the site, not only in your writings, which I always enjoy, but just your presence was always a major positive. I hope you keep contributing for the foreseeable future, but if you ever decide to hang it up, please know that you have done a great service for all of us.
